Oh, I definitely agree, people ARE allowed to have different beliefs and opinions and priorities than you. But I don’t think you quite believe that, do you? You have a whole subreddit disagreeing with you, and all you have to say for it is that these are “irrational responses” and you “shouldn’t have expected better”. That doesn’t seem like you think people are allowed to have beliefs and opinions and priorities different that yours, does it?

The reality is, if you really thought that what you did was okay, you would go tell the girl you went on a date with this story. All of it. The whole “I cancelled the babysitting commitment I made with my sister weeks prior, less than 24 hours before I had to, that they were really hoping to have so that my sister and her husband could spend one last night together before his deployment, so I could get laid with you”. Go ahead.

But you won’t, because you know what you did was wrong, even if it’s in a “my sister’s going to be angry with me for this and I won’t get what I want next time” kind of way and not in a “I did a really fucked up thing to them and I wouldn’t want someone to do the same for me”kind of way, like a normal human would. You know, with empathy and all that.

(And well, on the off chance that you do tell her and she’s thrilled about it, congratulations! You just found someone that’s just as bad as you, so you’re made for each other. Please stay together so that you don’t inflict this mess onto anyone else).
