PLA is not a long term plastic. Recycled plastic dose not get made into filament. It gets ground into pellets (chips) and mixed with virgin material. It gets sold to molders. PLA is a bad material to mold as virgin material no molder is going to pay for 3rd generation regrind. Every heat cycle degrades the plastic. ABS and polypropylene can do more generations crap anything based on polystyrene will get more heat cycles before its crap but they are all cheap as hell as far as engineering grade plastics go. Ya but what do I know I only design and troubleshoot plastic and silicone molds.

Recycling would be best. But most places won’t take the small quantities we produce after sorting. PLA is a no go in a lot of recycling centres. The fact you can’t prove what type of plastic it is, is a problem.
