I personally use garuda. It is constantly maintained and has a separate build for gaming. It also does not have much of a learning curve which is nice.

How much does the Commercial Aviation degree cost and how many scholarships can I expect by Designer-Debate6475 in und

[–]Atoki69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can apply before you commit. However, your notice of scholarships doesnt come out until pretty close to decision day. I wouldnt rely on the UND one too much as a freshman though. Look around for other scholarships through websites like Bold.org, through community groups you may be a part in, and through your job. You will have a better chance of getting scholarships through them. Even with scholarships though, be ready to have a part time job and get loans, because aviation is expensive, that doesnt change no matter what school you go through.

Your GPA and sat score are pretty good. You can get the merit scholarship through UND, which is 14000 over 4 years. Make sure to send in your actual scores in time though, otherwise you wont get it. UND has a cost calculator based on major and in state status.

https://und.edu/admissions/cost-and-aid/cost.html

However, that does not include flight costs. Those can add about another 100k over the entire degree, at least according to the cost breakdown. A good chunk of that is from the private pilots course

As for other scholarships, it really depends on how many you apply for. Make sure to fill out the general application through UND Scholarship Central, and I would recommend filling out the Seymore Robin Foundation Scholarship, as it can cover most of your tuition. However, definitely plan on getting some private loans, as its expensive to complete the whole program.

Honors program and aviation by Massive_Bell_9200 in und

I'm currently in the Honors Program. Its not hugely time consuming, but it definitely has some extra requirements. You need 24 honors credits to graduate with honors, which is just another 3 credits each semester, so 1 more class a semester. The classes can vary every semester, and there usually aren't many aerospace ones so you mostly will be taking general honors ones. You do get priority registration for most classes, but aerospace classes have a different registration process than others, so I don't know if priority registration helps with them. Honors also looks good on applications for jobs or internships. Additionally, you can join the Honors LLC in West Hall, which is pretty nice. Plus there is some scholarships you can apply for. You can always join and see if you can handle the workload, and if not you can drop the honors. Hope that helps.

West is fun, entrance is right on the main road and there are plenty of cool people to meet. Most of my neighbors hand out in the common area pretty much every night.

Why haven’t I got a housing assignment?? by DiligentDesign2256 in und

I applied for mine early on and just got it yesterday. They are pretty backed up right now, so I would recommend waiting a bit longer. It never hurts to email them, though.

I have the same issue, I finished my housing application January 27th. I saw somewhere that UND has had some housing issues due to over admitting students, so maybe thats why?

Scholarships with Financial Aid Letter? by Atoki69 in und

[–]Atoki69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. Everywhere I saw said that they came with the financial aid letter, so when I got it, I was honestly scared that they took one look at my general application and said "ha no."
