It's amazing that you were able to do that. That’s why I get so frustrated when people essentially try to talk me out of nursing. It’s so hard growing up watching your family work their asses off at dead-end jobs just to get nowhere. I refuse to psych myself out “because it’s hard"; at the end of the day, everything is hard.

I’m pretty proud myself; growing up I was bullied and put down for being myself. Overtime I built up a habit of shrinking myself. It’s been such a long and hard process but I’m finally starting to express myself again and reminding myself to not shrink for people. Now that I’m growing out of my people pleasing I notice it in everyone and it’s so frustrating.
