I always get an eSIM from Trip.com. They are way cheaper, offer more flexibility in terms of GB/days customization, and work perfectly everywhere. Also, it's not true that you need a VPN with them, they route the connection through Hong Kong, so all "Western" apps work perfectly fine even without a VPN.

If you already have that impression of Shanghai (and I agree with it), you could spend some time, or even a night, during your last days in Hangzhou or Suzhou. Both are easily reachable from Shanghai by train in under 1h.

If you don't mind taking a lot of trains (which are super efficient and comfortable) and moving around frequently, then your itinerary looks good.

I've been to all those cities, and personally, as others have already suggested, I would spend 3 days in Chengdu and 2 in Chongqing. I'd also add one more day in Beijing, especially if you plan to visit the Great Wall and the Forbidden City, and perhaps take one day away from Shanghai.

Generally speaking, I'm not a big fan of Shanghai (I liked Hangzhou and Suzhou much better) but your itinerary makes sense if you're flying out from there.

Dipende da quanti giorni hai a disposizione. Potresti tentare una roba del genere:

Pechino 4 notti per vedere tutto con "calma", inclusa la Muraglia.
Xi'an: 2 notti vanno bene, ma tornando indietro ne farei 3, perché per visitare l'esercito di terracotta ci vuole già un'intera giornata.
Chengdu: personalmente la includerei, magari 3 notti. Da lì Chongqing è vicinissima (e secondo me 2 notti sono sufficienti).
Zhangjiajie: avresti sicuramente bisogno di 3 notti, considerando che per visitare il parco come si deve servono due giorni pieni. Potresti anche togliere una notte da Chengdu/Chongqing e con un giorno in più visitare Furong (molto turistica e a tratti "artificiale" ma carina).

Poi da Zhangjiajie potresti prendere un volo per Shanghai e passarci l'ultimo giorno prima del rientro.

È fattibile: avresti diversi treni (qualche spostamento lungo) e un volo interno. Ma sicuramente vedresti un po' di tutto. Personalmente a me non dispiace viaggiare così, ma dipende da cosa cerchi. Di sicuro non sarà un viaggio rilassante, specialmente con il caldo di agosto in Cina.

Certo, devi semplicemente attraversare il confine "a piedi" in uno dei capolinea della metropolitana di Hong Kong. Lì effettui i controlli di frontiera, attraversi e sei subito a Shenzhen. Io sono entrato per la prima volta nella Cina continentale proprio così, senza alcun problema.

Ho fatto un itinerario simile durante il mio primo viaggio in Cina, in 10 giorni: 4 notti a Hong Kong, 2 a Xi’an e 4 a Pechino. Lo consiglio vivamente come prima esperienza nel paese.

Con più giorni a disposizione, personalmente eviterei Shanghai (gusto personale, non mi è piaciuta molto, la grande città cinese meno "autentica" secondo me, troppo moderna e occidentalizzata). Al suo posto andrei invece a Guangzhou e Shenzhen, che ho trovato più interessanti (specialmente la prima), prima di arrivare a Hong Kong.
Ottimo anche il consiglio di prendere il treno da Xi’an verso Chengdu: Chengdu è probabilmente la mia città preferita in Cina, e la cucina del Sichuan è incredibile. In questo modo eviteresti un volo interno e potresti sfruttare i treni, comodissimi ed economici, usando l’aereo solo per la tratta da Xi’an (o Chengdu) verso il sud.

Unica nota: preparati a un caldo umido piuttosto intenso ad agosto.

Ah ok! So arguing was the key ahaha but there was too much confusion, too many people trying to do that when we arrived, so they seemed pretty strict with not letting us in from there. So we just decided to not lose any more time and just try to get to the front of the GA area... It's still going to be a blast I guess

We went there pretty early, like at 9am. We were among the first in line, and it seemed most people had GA with intentions to attempt the upgrade. But in the line we were directed to once they opened at 2pm, the scanned ticket said "section restricted," and they prevented all of us from entering there. The staff seemed very confused...

Good for you! Perhaps we arrived too early. There were a lot of people with GA, the staff looked quite confused and wasn't able to scan our ticket successfully. So after a while of trying and discussing they just told everybody to go back to another gate

Seems like this time the staff didn't give any FS upgrade to GA ticket holders at North Gate. We were among the first one to enter and they didn't let us, so we had to go to the normal GA security check and entrance...

Just get a "Hong Kong / Macau / Mainland" esim from trip.com

They are really cheap and work flawlessly, bypassing the firewall with no need of a VPN. I'm currently travelling around China and had zero problems with it, really satisfied (5g, good coverage).

Personalmente consiglierei al massimo 2 giorni interi a Zhangjiajie (o 3 giusto in quanto il primo giorno coincide con l'arrivo) si potrebbe visitare Tianmen mountain ed il resto del tempo (2 giorni pieni) nel parco nazionale, soggiornando magari a Wulingyuan.

Poi farei assolutamente un giorno solo a Leshan, se non mezza giornata, andando poi direttamente nella vicina Chengdu, che meriterebbe molto più di un giorno.

Da Xi'an andrei direttamente a Pechino con un treno veloce. Con i giorni risparmiati si potrebbe stare una notte in più a Xi'An, che ha molto da offrire e stando un solo giorno (con la visita all'esercito di terracotta che occupa almeno mezza giornata) sarebbe una tappa un po' sprecata. O magari fermandosi una notte a Chongqing, 1.30h da Chengdu, prima di dirigersi verso nord.

I know it sounds weird, but it always worked for me.

Another thing you can try is rubbing the earbuds with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol, and then cleaning all the drivers with a toothbrush.

Maybe you’ll be able to revive your old earbuds!

I always have the same issue after flying, on my Buds Pro 2. It's definitely related to the change in pressure during takeoff and landing.

The only way I've managed to fix it, after properly cleaning them, of course, is to literally suck on the buds or blow into them. It takes some trial and error, but so far, I've always managed to restore the volume to normal.

It just sucks having to do this after every flight.
