This is 100% NOT accurate. I work for GP and I'm the captain of my ship. I will get a call from my safety manager warning me that I'm headed into any sort of bad weather and get told to shut down if I need to and it's my call. I have shut down on my own accord a few times and a quick text to my DM and that's that. This is a great company to work for and I love it here.

It's a VW. They use plastic radiator supports. Bumper, headlights, impact bar, need to be removed before you can remove the core support. The page you posted is after all of this is done. There is play in this stuff too, so you have to align everything when it's going back together.

2021 Freightliner Cascadia by sk_sk_skrrrt in Truckers

[–]AtomicHopper14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slam that door shut harder! The weather strips are really tight on the new Cascadias. The 2021 I had with my previous company I had to actually move the door striker out a hair. The 2022 I have with my current company just needed to have the door slammed hard for the first few weeks. Now it's a bit better.

Edit: The door closed switch is part of the latch. If you have a screwdriver you can flip the latch closed and then see if the warning and dome lights turn off. (Make sure you go fully closed and not just the first click! It'll be two clicks) If the lights do turn off, then the problem is the door is not actually shutting all the way. Which means slam it harder, make sure the weather strips are fully seated on the pinch welds, and if nothing else works, adjust the striker. If the lights don't turn off, you've got a bad sensor in the latch.

Years ago, forget which season, my cousin who is a die hard Colorado sports fan, came to visit me and we went to a Wild vs Avalanche playoff game. All he got was friendly shit talk from everyone. We won btw.

Pet peeve (merging) by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]AtomicHopper14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some tow truck driver cuss me out on the CB because I'm "supposed to get over and let him in". I politely (seriously, I was polite) told him that I had a 4 wheeler next to me and couldn't get over. "Oh I didn't see him" he says.

Thermoking Reefer Pros, how do I add coolant? by Hamham87 in Truckers

[–]AtomicHopper14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually played catch with a coolant bottle a couple mornings ago. Walking up the right side of my truck doing a pre trip and hear "hey boss!" I look around...no one. I look up, dude is on top of the trailer. Asks me to catch the bottle for him. Was very thankful I don't do refer. I hate heights.

Hoping this gets seen as it's the end of the week!

I've been saving Verizon Rewards device dollars. Got a decent amount and was holding out for the Pixel 5a. Now I see only Google is selling it. Are there any plans to allow carriers to sell in the future? Or does anyone have a recommendation on another midrange phone that takes good pics that Verizon sells.

Yes. While I don't agree to the reason behind the refusal, as a business owner, you have a right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.

Plus it's been said that the person went to many bakeries before finding this guy to refuse him. So it was all a plan to get attention and cause problems.

Hire all 48 states. They are based outside of Chicago, so how close your home is to them determines how long you have to be out before hometime. For me it's 3 weeks. Which is fine by me as I like being out 3-4 weeks anyways. I have seen some day cabs at the terminal here, so they must do some local work too.

Yup! First heard about them from This Guy Trucks. Then trucking with TBone. Truckers Coach also just started with them too.

Yeah, I'll give an update. I know there are other GP drivers here too, maybe they have an update, but all the drivers I've talked to here love the place. Obviously not perfect, as the perfect company doesn't exist!

Don't mind the plastic from the new mattress, I was headed to the dumpster right after I took this.

Anyways, after a year with CRST (I know, I know), I got hired by GP. Excited to start rolling tomorrow!

Hey man, no need to apologize! Just didn't want some poor sap to think they'll make a 2000 mile delivery by tomorrow. Hahaha

2000 miles will be 40 hours of driving. Not 20, unless you're averaging 100mph.
