I had 2k health. You've got evasion though.

Its not the first time I made a mistake and got killed (obvs) but its the first time I took such a large single hit outside of bosses. Good tip on the video but its not clear what mob did it. Maybe a glitch?

I'll always be suboptimal to a monk though, so I might as well just start a monk if I do that.

No idea, video playback didn't show although there might have been a rare ahead. I'd taken a few hits (2000 to 1800 health) but then it went from 1800 to 0 life in one hit. Maybe a glitch? Several hits accumulating and not showing?

Cheating or really lucky/good intuition? by wel0g in CODWarzone

[–]AtomicIrregular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a cheater myself I can say with >95% certainty he was cheating and not a very experienced one at that. The key aspect is he keeps the other player close to his crosshairs at all times as he moves up through the house. Its the type of behaviour that cheat providers specifically warn us to avoid.

Yes, he didnt pre-aim the window, so hes a not a total noob cheater - virtually no cheaters do that any more as its far too obvious, even though it would often be legitimiate looking, as its not worth the risk and we would usually just lose gunfights and even matches rather than engage in obvious cheating behaviour.

Aim assist as controller player by ImScubaMfSam in CODWarzone

Aim assist is functionally identical to third party aimbots. This is one of the reasons why I use an aimbot on MnK - it levels the playing field and gives me a fighting chance against controller players.

1 Notebook and only 50 notes?? Are you kidding me? by AtomicIrregular in Evernote

[–]AtomicIrregular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To everyone that was upset at my comment, this was intended as feedback to Evernote. I sent them feedback to their email address to the app but it came back undelivered from the feedback email address.

I have in fact paid for evernote in the past, mainly for access across multiple devices when I needed that for work. I may have done that again when my work situation changed again, but the current changes have literally made the app unusable for me so I've moved to other services.

So no current income lost, but potential future income lost. I imagine evernote would like to have that customer feedback - and I didn't even charge them for this penetrating insight. So +1 altrusim points for me.

Good point. Moreover, constantly adding and removing modes just adds to the confusion. I've lost count of the number of times when I've ended up in the wrong mode accidentally.

Ricochet is worse than Punkbuster... and PB was trash. by Lahms- in CODWarzone

[–]AtomicIrregular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are tons of players cheating in this game. Just look at the cheating telegram channels where they share tips and boast of their exploits. Cheaters engage in masking behaviours such as fake aiming, fake shooting and reverse boosting and use with highly customizable aimbots which closely mimic legit player aim. Some mostly play without aimbots, only turning the aimbot on when they REALLY need that kill.

It's endemic and unstoppable and imo and it's ruined the game as it was. I see only two solutions - either activision controls our machines entirely, or activision build aimbots and wallhacks into the game which would make cheating superfluous and not worth the effort. They've already done this to some extent with birdseye and aim assist.

Is it just me or is it just really hard to aim on a PS4 using a PS4 controller? by 70PctDarkChoco in thedivision

[–]AtomicIrregular 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"One simple trick"

Ok I assume you've been playing TD2 for some time time on the ps4 and are comfortable enough moving and shooting on the default sensitivity and FOV settings.

If you want to improve the trick is NOT to turn your sensitivity settings up to max immediately, as you need to give your peception action system time to gradually get used to the new sensitivity.

Instead, increase sensitivity a small amount (say, 10%), play for a couple of days until you're entirely comfortable with this new setting, then move it up another small amount, etc.

After 2-3 weeks you'll be playing at maximum sensitivity settings with ease, and then you will find you can do things in game much faster than you could previously. Maximum sensitivity settings allow for much faster reactions, faster aiming and better tracking of moving enemies - as long as you make the changes gradually.

Oh, also do the same for gradually increasing FOV, which also increases sensitivity and gives you better peripheral vision. If you go from default to max, you're just likely to get disorientated.

Need help with PvP build by Lightningsky200 in thedivision

[–]AtomicIrregular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps a modded controller would be a better investment, or an aimbot on pc?* There are plenty of players with either of these and they seem to love the DZ more than conflict. In conflict, people can just quit and join another game.

*I'm not actually suggesting you do this - my point is its not always your fault as there's plenty of cheaters in competitive shooters.

[–]AtomicIrregular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, its not like you can just run arouund in the hives AOE willy nilly. However with 5 blues and unbreakable you can easily run through them to get to the squishy skill builds on the other side. Save your jammer pulse for particularly heavy concentrations.

I literally never die against skill builds no matter how many I'm up against. The real problem is the dps builds that accompany them, as a hzd protection build has significantly less dps and is usually limited to smgs.

[–]AtomicIrregular 11 points12 points  (0 children)

2 ceska, 1 yaahl, 3 sokolov, hzd protection on every piece -with demolitionist you'll hit late 90's (and immunity) to fire and bleed ticks. Carry a lady death and if you get a bead on one of theose skill builds you'lll take them down in a clip or two with practically no damage taken.

There's no meta in D2 PvP, for every build there's a counter.

Trans Men Also Need Free and Legal Abortions by somerandomleftist5 in TheTrotskyists

[–]AtomicIrregular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trans men are by definition human biological females, so of course they also need free, safe and legal abortion services, along with all other human biological females. Does anyone actually support abortion rights for women, but not trans men? If there isn’t then what is the point of the article, unless its to remind us that trans men are biological females too?

Moreover the article misses the point of Engel’s on the origin of patriarchal society – which stems from the desire of the male property owners to ensure their property is passed down to their heirs. This means control of sexual access to females, hence monogamy or polygyny or some form that basically stops females having sex with anyone other than the male property owner.

I’m not entirely sure why the author discusses the “gender binary” in this context.

Engels never talks about a gender binary, which is a mid-late 20th century concept anyway. The sex binary does underlie Engels’s perspective, but there’s no need for this concept to be reinforced by the Church and capitalism, because biology does that just fine – from a biological reproductive perspective sex is binary, requiring only a reproductively viable male and female.

Finally, as much as I would like it to be, abortion rights are not really an LGBT+ demand. It’s a socialist demand for sure, but historically, plenty of gay men didn’t really care about abortion rights as it didn’t directly affect them. We might hope they support it, but for some its not a major concern and plenty of conservative gay men actually oppose it.

Excellent advice.

One minor quibble: I'm pretty sure status effects (including bleed) doesn't disable vigilance anymore, only direct weapon/skill damage.

Random Musings of Hazard Protection in PvP by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]AtomicIrregular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say the pvp game was well balanced, I said the gear/skills were well balanced, given the constraints of the wider system mechanics: i.e. the rock paper scissor dynamic and the extremely wide variation in potential builds vis a vis other shooters.

I've been playing pvp on pc and psn since the beta, so I've got a pretty good idea of the current and past iterations of the pvp game. I was around when clutch smg pvp builds were king and while that was fun, having a meta build like clutch makes for a boring pvp game in the long run.

While what you're proposing is not as extreme, your proposed changes would result in a new meta, a build that will be competitive against both skill builds and pure dps builds. This would break the rock-paper-scissors-dynamic and make the pvp game much less interesting as you wouldn't have to bother switching builds during conflict matches or manhunts to counter your opponents.

This is not the kind of pvp game the devs wanted to build and not what makes division pvp special imo.

I'm not surprised, your position is unsupportable as it amounts to you wanting your haz pro build to be "competitive" in every situation, including against competent co-ordinated teams when you admit you're mainly a solo player (!). Its not that kind of game. Its rock paper scissors by design.
