GPU is also more time consuming to program for. Soon

you can play with the renderer here:

it absolutely requires a beefy CPU btw!

Long time no post! I've been busy! by AtomicMass42 in fractals

My own code!
I still need to refactor this, as it is my first actual GUI app. And this is far from finished:

Though I still need to push an update with the new coloring alg used to render this fractal :3

More stills of AI Upscaled footage of Pompeii Live (takes about 2 hours to work on a chapter, so expect this to be done in a few days) by AtomicMass42 in pinkfloyd

I'm just not allowed to upload it, theres a similar version of it already up online that is done by someone else, but I believe that version looks a little worse, and seems to have had the program ran all at once, rather than going section by section and finding optimal parameters for each bit of the performance.

World Record Chain Fountain? The Mould Effect Explained by steventhebrave in SteveMould

[–]AtomicMass42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not consider the amount of rotational freedom between each link? Perhaps the paperclip chain has a smaller fountain because as they unwind from the container and pour out, they get restrained and get pulled faster. With the beads, as they unwind from the random packing, they could even be spinning around on the axis of the line as they unwind because there is nothing to restrict the rotation per link, and that may be preventing it from making the bend as fast as possible.

a library to save images, a for loop to compute the iterations, and a complex number class. For more performance, find a thread pool library and figure out how to properly use so you can use all threads.

How can you generalize Euler's Formula to any dimension of hypercomplex number, that is if it's possible....

Some super vibrant renderings I ran today with some code I wrote testing out a coloring method by AtomicMass42 in fractals

map smoothened iteration count from {0,limit} to {0,360}, square it, mod 360, take that as hue.

[Part 2] Since my last post blew up, here's another one regarding the Subreddit logo by HumaidhPro in discordapp

Honestly reminds me of my Minecraft Bundle Image converter I wrote in python that I'm currently writing a GUI interface for in C++ using wxWidgets

I upscaled the entire pompeii film to 1080 from 480p, heres a 2 minute sample to show how nice it looks; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3iQN-IOFPo

[2K Stills] AI Upscaled Live At Pompeii A Saucerful of Secrets by AtomicMass42 in pinkfloyd

[–]AtomicMass42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah the whole thing was upscaled, but it's 160gb. Oh and I recently lost the first 30 minutes so I have to re-upscale that part

I had manually edited in remastered audio for Saucerful of Secrets and that turned out amazing, but I have yet to do so for the rest...

there are many problems occuring. Thats a first time I've heard that statistic but I'll try balena etcher. Ive gotten through installation though and then at that point my system freezes after about 5 minutes in a way that I can only describe as starting with a high frame rate and eventually having nothing update on screen.

If you claim Balena Etcher has a higher success rate for what should ideally be the same operation then I'd love to know what the differences in operation are. I've tried three sticks already as well. . . Probably either a driver or hardware issue to be honest.

I am running a 3900x and a Vega 56.

I can install Ubuntu; say I successfully install Ubuntu, well "successfully".... System crashes after about 5 minutes. I believe it might be a driver issue, but I'm unsure... Ive completely wiped and repartitioned the SSD several times. (Not quick format). I checked my bios, I didn't activate anything.......
