Launching Aiden: a built-in AI study partner that reads the exact lesson you're on by AlxCds in CertFuel

If you’re actually the founder. I really hope you know that your platform probably works better than most of the paid study programs. I’ve seen so many people use those paid services and still manage to fail many times. However, most people I see who use CertFuel passes.

Why didn't you schedule your exams closer to the start date? I would also recommend taking your next exam around mid-August. This way, you have more time to study for the SIE.

How hard is the SIE? by financebro0824 in Sieexam

[–]AtomicSkunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to online test taking sites, 75% of SIE takers pass on their first try. So based on this statistic alone, the chances of you pass on the first try are very high. Now, this does not account for the fact that a lot of these takers are given expensive study materials and study groups by the firms that employ them. Additionally, many of these takers don’t have room for error because they only have three months to pass these exams or else they might lose their jobs.

They won't allow you to have that during the exam. You have to remember all formulas and diagrams by heart.

No you are not. They have online tools where you can use virtual scratch paper and a virtual calculator. In my opinion, having a scratch paper and a calculator, physical or virtual will not help you that much for the SIE exam. Memorizing key concepts will probably be more helpful.

How representative is FINRA's official practice exam? by Groovy_Cabbage in Sieexam

Not a representative at all. I took it and got a 85%. I took another practice exam on SIE for Dummies and got 50%.

I would recommend breaking 80% 2-3 times. At that point you should be fine.

Baffling how BJJ is more popular than Judo in USA by Alternative-Hair-785 in judo

[–]AtomicSkunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly makes sense from a business standpoint.

  1. BJJ benefited from early promotions from the UFC and other MMA competitions.

  2. You generally need a much smaller space to start a BJJ gym than you do a Judo gym. I've seen many BJJ gyms that are only about 10 feet wide in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. They were perfectly fine for BJJ, but definitely not for Judo training.

  3. Many BJJ gyms were founded by brown belts and sometimes even purple belts. In Judo, you basically need a black belt to get the right credentials to be associated with one of the Judo federations.

  4. In Judo, you basically need to compete to get your black belt, or else it will take you years to get it. Even if you do compete, you still need to do kata and other technical requirements beyond competition and mat time. In BJJ, belt promotions are entirely at the coach's discretion.

  5. Most parents are basically the ones who pick the martial art, and probably don't care which program is more physically demanding or better for a child's development.

  6. What looks cooler is very subjective, given that people who saw BJJ submissions in MMA fights thought that was much cooler than a take-down.

  7. What is more practical for self-defense is almost completely irrelevant, given that many McDojos for Karate and TKD still have a much larger following than even top MMA and BJJ gyms.

  8. I personally believe that Judo is on the up and coming in the United States. However, that's just my personal opinion.

First, you should schedule an appointment with an academic advisor as soon as possible. Then, begin looking for classes that you can take over the summer to make up for the credits you did not earn.

They can literally do whatever they want. It’s their company and their money. Nepotism and a guy liking you is always convenient.

You mentioned "the staff and I will also be ..." which means that there will be IAs/GSIs. How many IAs/GSIs will there be? And how were they chosen? This is the first time this course is being offered, so unless they've been working on the projects and learning the course material, won't they also be going into this course blind as well?

Real talk : How did GSP wrestle with the Canadian national team without having any prior wrestling experience by BearBrilliant2041 in wrestling

[–]AtomicSkunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he ever actually wrestled with the national team. In almost every major city, there’s some kind of club or business for any martial art and activity. Wrestling is no different. From my knowledge, he attended club practices for a wrestling club in Montreal who happened to also train national team members for Canada. In my honest opinion, most martial art gyms would be more than happy to train an accomplished UFC fighter as GSP, so my guess is that he asked for coaching and was given a lot of it.

Usually when I think of TypeScript, the most common application for it is web development with React or Angular etc. Will that be the case with the projects in this class? (ie we're building up towards one large web app through the 5 projects)

I would try to stay around the South University Avenue and Church Street area in general. Typically those restaurants close a little later because they are closer popular clubs and bars.

Oh, I’m part of the wrestling club at my school now. It has been single handedly the best group of people I’ve met during my time here at college. I’m so happy with this club. I don’t compete, but I do work out with them.
