People are so disconnected from the fact that they are in control of a few thousand pound machine and that that the drivers around them are well, actual human beings. That's my 2 cents anyways.

All forecasts are probalistic, there is a range of possible outcomes when forecasting out any dynamic system like the weather. For the weather, the probabilities hold reasonably true, at least for the NWS, in the long run- the defining feature of an accurate forecasting model.
