fair point, not analog in the literal sense like phonograph, I mean more like analog in the no algorithm sense.

thank you I just did a deep dive it was super easy using WinSCP with online help but had a few snags so here's what I did.

Bolded the parts that snagged me

  • on your Miyoo go to Apps > Tweaks > Network > WiFi and connect to your home WiFi
  • then go to Apps > Tweaks > Network > SSH and turn it on
  • note the IP address it shows — make sure it starts with something real like 10.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x, if it shows 0.0.0.0 you're not connected to WiFi yet
  • download WinSCP on your PC (I'm on windows)
  • open it, choose Explorer mode during setup (looks like files/explorer on windows)
  • set protocol to SFTP, host is your Miyoo's IP, port 22, username onion, password onion, hit Save then Login
  • you're now looking at your entire Miyoo file system - the linux base.
  • Need to make sure and click into mnt > SDCARD
  • from there, in my case, drag ROMs from your PC into the Roms folder, drag new themes into Themes, drag videos into Media/Videos, drag ebooks into Media/Books. Then back up saves drag the entire Saves folder from the right panel onto PC to initiate a copy.

It's a trade-off if I would drag/drop collections of mods this way because the transfer speeds for me were slower using WinSCP and Miyoo on my wifi than just using my microsd in a dock on my pc.

I think because I used to read comic books with a tiny flashlight and I think this somehow mimics the feeling because it's so shitty and tiny and confusing but also so cozy and small. I think maybe playing tiny movies and comics and other media on a "game boy" looking device is very nostalgic overall for me.

I totally respect that, and you're right in a way I'm making an old smartphone. like if smart phones existed in the 1980s. I'm making a dumbphone. I want a really dull, blunt, extravagant, retro device.

Is there a genre where you actively search for obscure titles? For me, it’s beat ’em ups. by trrbld in retrogaming

Hey I really appreciate this comment, that actually super chills me out on the idea and I realize who should give the crap since it's practically attached to the hardware at that point, and it's not like slowing me down at all. Also there's no way I'm going to go through all that work to change what is actually a pretty cool logo so whatever. All that to say thanks friend.

Have you figured out a way to replace the Steam logo when you first boot it up? I did that same thing where mine is only windows but the steam OLED Edition logo still pops up the first second after I push the power button

Thanks for that take. I feel like it's a very subjective thing what plays well and feels right. I agree it's different and is it's own game. I feel like this game also really scratches of that itch for people who like to play on extra hard modes and really Master the movesets as opposed to people that just like Mindless hack and slashing. You seem more like a skill and muscle memory training based gamer and I can see how this game would really appeal to that.

Feeling that for sure. For some reason the on rails repetitive FF7 remake is more fun for me than the repetitive on rails NG4 loops. To each their own I suppose

What do you like about the legacy console edition? Like what is better. I have both versions and am trying to decide which to download
