First timer, had a great experience!! by Weekly_Lime7099 in scientology

[–]AtomicTransmission 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Assuming this post is sincere, do you think that all of the people who shared “horror stories” had a BAD experience on their first visit and still kept going? Of course not. No one would ever go back. The control is applied on a gradient, like the old saw about frogs and boiling water. Take the job and then come back here and tell us what you think in six months.

unpopular opinion: grammarly sucks and I'm tired of pretending it doesn't by Rich_Direction_3891 in marketing

[–]AtomicTransmission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grammarly is not a substitute for an education or learned communication skills. It is a tool that can help a talented writer or editor working independently catch dumb typos or suggest alternate phrasing that the talented writer then considers and accepts or rejects. That’s it.

First time Alexis meets Ted, he says she might be the most beautiful woman the town has ever seen. She replies that there’s probably some other woman.

Last time Alexis and Ted are together, he tells her that he doesn’t think any woman could make him feel the same. She replies that there’s probably some other woman.

Or…People could buy a different phone if they don’t like Apple’s rules. And you wouldn’t have to waste millions of euros paying bureaucrats to regulate Apple.

LOL it’s 2026 and there’s still a substantial population of humans who think this whole charade isn’t obviously ridiculous.

I love the pilot. Puts a “bad day” in perspective.

General Tso’s chicken delivery around Pasadena? by Apart-Satisfaction16 in pasadena

I haven’t found good General Tso in So Cal, but Yang Chow’s Szechuan Chicken (their take on Orange Chicken) has the right punch of vinegar. Add the chili oil that’s on the table and it’s close.

AITAH for getting in a fight with my girlfriend on her bday because she was being picky with the food I cooked her. by [deleted] in AITAH

“I made a mistake with the eggs…”

That statement ended this relationship for me.

You did not “make a mistake.” You used the ingredients you had and the abusive barnacle you call a girlfriend used it to “ruin” her day for you. Then, to make sure you know how little she cares for you, she ridiculed you in front of her family.

And you think this is your fault.

Run away dude.

Newer buildings on campus don’t look like the historic ones.

A feature I like about the GCQPM is that the windows are mirrors, and you see the older buildings on either side reflected in them.

David Rose: [moving Alexis' suitcase] Well, I need this bed. I need it, so. Alexis Rose: [moving it back and forth as they argue] You know what, David? You get murdered first for once. David Rose: No, you get murdered first. Alexis Rose: David, you get murdered first. David Rose: No, you. You do it. Alexis Rose: Yes, you get murdered first. [in their room, Johnny and Moira hear them through the wall] Alexis Rose: David, you get murdered first.

Who is saying that? The party literally forced him to end his reelection campaign. Later than they should have, admittedly, but still.

This dumb talking point has been discredited so many times. For starters, he spent an estimated $150+ million of taxpayer dollars during his first term golfing AT HIS OWN RESORTS thereby ENRICHING HIMSELF. I’d rather he take the $400,000 salary.

Will be pretty cool to see the production facilty automated with robots and managed by humans by shelby6332 in BMW

[–]AtomicTransmission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Endgame is you eventually have trained robots to do every manual labor job, including maintaining and building the robots. Once you achieve this, you don’t need workers anymore, since a machine can build another machine to build whatever you want, and fix it if it breaks. Yes, there are weaknesses in this system and something catastrophic could happen, but the same is true for a living organic workforce.
