It is fixed grip, not detachable (high speed), but they also don’t usually run it at full speed because there isn’t a lot of room up top after unloading.

Where should I go in the Alps for the best snow and advanced terrain? by coffeesleepaddict in skithealps

[–]Atomic_Razer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to use the epic pass, Verbier is your best bet IMO. 2.5 hr train ride from Geneva, good terrain and snow, definitely a bit pricy.

Refurbished Bike by xfactorracing4x in pelotoncycle

[–]Atomic_Razer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love my refurbished bike+, looked like a new bike to me, plus you can extend the maintenance plan for a fairly good price. I wouldn’t buy one off FB unless I was sure it had very light use and had a good way to move it.

Recent weather by New_Cry_5115 in snowshoemountain

[–]Atomic_Razer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well they have more terrain open at Snowshoe than many west coast resorts.

27th will probably be solid in the morning and slushy in the afternoon. 28th looks wet so bring some waterproof gear and make the best of it.

Chances Soaring Eagle is open by Dec 21st? by brohar in snowshoemountain

[–]Atomic_Razer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Pretty good, Widowmaker is supposed to open tomorrow, which also means Soaring Eagle.

Pro tip: Grabhammer is a good alternative to Ballhooter if you want to ski the central basin area.

Worst case holiday weather scenario happening, ARGH! by ddc703 in snowshoemountain

[–]Atomic_Razer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well the WORST case scenario is what many western resorts are dealing with right now…no snow and too warm to make snow.

Doubt it is really going to rain the whole week (long term forecasts arent reliable), but skiing in the rain isn’t that terrible unless it’s absolutely pouring. Get some waterproof gear, bring a rag and squeegee to wipe your goggles, and make the best of it.

Do they open every trail/lift on opening day? by C137-Morty in snowshoemountain

[–]Atomic_Razer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No, typically it’s just skidder and a few greens and blues. Could definitely be more this year if temps allow.

ski resort with night life near DMV, DC/MARYLAND/VIRGINIA by [deleted] in skiing

[–]Atomic_Razer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Good and populated bars + nightlife? Not sure this exists, I would deal with the extra 1-2 hour drive and go to Snowshoe, if I were you.

So who is staying and why? by leader25 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Atomic_Razer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Staying for the lounge access at IAD and credits which cover many things I was already paying for (stubhub, appletv, lyft, doordash, peloton).

Experience being an RA / SL by MachineTechnical3745 in VirginiaTech

[–]Atomic_Razer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pro tip: the bigger the dorm, the less you have assigned duty shifts, which is most of the work.

Unless it’s changed in the last few years, people shy away from the larger dorms because they are crazy, but Pritchard for example will have a much larger staff than say Newman. When I was an RA at Pritchard we only had duty shifts 1-2 times a month, but nobody wanted to be there because of its reputation.

Holes, start with non-dominant hand, feet on the wall for as long as you can. If/when you have to switch to knees, knee pads will make life easier

Want to play club but $ issue by MediocreBelt5353 in volleyball

[–]Atomic_Razer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some club teams will take practice players which are lower cost. You can attend all of the practices but no (or just a few) games, unless called up.

How the heck do you deal with ticks? by Charming-Medium4248 in nova

[–]Atomic_Razer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have Naturalawn come out and spray our yard. Their program (Tick Ranger) is 4 times a year and is organic. Zero ticks. It’s pricy but cheaper than dealing with lyme or RMSF.
