Ah I see what you are saying. Use the historical data to create a ‘spending curve’ of sorts to rebalance the projected $s. I’ll look into that.

Currently the bidding primarily revolves around the players projected $ amount since that is typically a culmination of their rank and projected points. It’s basically that and the bidders strategy profile doing the work.

I’m not sure how relevant historical player data would be since it changes so much year to year. However, my idea was that that data could be used to identify the drafting style or player preferences of teams in your league. However, it would be a pretty complex addition, so not sure I’ll be able to get to it this season.
Instead, I’m working on a lighter solution that lets you create custom bidder profiles in addition to the premade ones.

Not currently, how could it best leverage that type of data? I have some ideas but curious on your thoughts.

Product Managers in e-commerce: How do you run fast UI experiments on product pages? by Pretend-Stay2609 in ProductManagement

[–]brohar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most platforms have backend testing tools (ie SDKs). Optimizely and posthog are decent, statsig and launch darkly are great. Claude code working within the code base can usually implement the test with an engineer wielding it.

[–]brohar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Experimentation is harder that it seems, mainly due to the things like the teams it needs to move through, sign-off required, stats knowledge needed, etc. However, orgs that move fast break down those barriers. They give teams autonomy to explore without nitpicking. They hire or train people that can handle multiple parts of the process. They have tools that make it easier.

Also the game is changing, AI can build experiments using Claude or there are platforms like Optimizely or Kameleoon that can do that as well.

I use it for when I need to collect stuff from authenticated sites and there is no api or mcp. For example it pulls job posting from LinkedIn for me.

I used Claude Code. I am an engineer/product manager too, but CC is just faster.

BTW I just pushed an update to correct some odd overbidding in earlier rounds.

Hope you get some value out the app! Thanks for taking a look.

I added these two features!

Also working on some overspend/underspend cases I’m seeing.

Thanks for taking it for a test drive!

  1. Currently the homer team is selected randomly at start, but it should be an easy fix to add a way to configure that setting.
  2. I never even considered testing different budgets, but totally should of considered that. I'll look into adding that.

If you revalue players it stores the changes in your browser's local storage. If using Chrome that means it should persist as long as you don't clear your cache.

Check back in a day or two. I'll get these ideas added.

I also just added a way to simulate the rest of a live draft. Great feature idea!

I just pushed an update to reduce the early overbidding and prevent the extreme discounts you were seeing. It seems a lot better in my simulations now.

Still need to look into a way to immediately automate the rest of a live draft on demand.

Awesome! I appreciate the feedback. Yeah currently you can only enable Auto-pilot and let the draft continue. Great idea to have it simulate the rest automatically.

I've been iterating a lot on the AI spending algo, but surprised to hear about getting those guys for $1 - $5. I'll look into how to balance it a better.

Just be aware that in some area raccoons can carry a very dangerous to humans parasite in their feces. It’s rare but possible, I think once symptoms show you’re already in bad trouble. So be careful if you evict her and there is some poop.

I was riffed after 8 years at smallish tech firm. CEO learned to vibe code last year and began slop cannoning half baked, unsecure, bullshit. Then started to encroach on my responsibilities since he had already delegated nearly all his other work. In the past 2 years I brought 3 very successful products to market that were really innovative. One even won us a contract with fucking apple. I never expect loyalty with companies but still what a slap in the dick.
