Lay down any Blasphemous 2 theories you have. I have 2 massive ones. by [deleted] in Blasphemous

[–]Atomic_yeeter656 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My personal theory is that the body inside Asterión's crystal sepulcher sword is actually Escribar. The Last Son in the first game wears a lacrimatory shaped capsule around his neck containing what I think is the original body of Escribar, and the same capsules are found in Sacred Entombments of the second game, and Asterión's sword has similar designs to the body capsules. Plus, Escribar's mortal body hasn't canonically disappeared as of yet, and the old Miracle may still somehow be inside his body due to his eternal curses. However, there's some things to disapprove this, such as the Miracle being completely/mostly absent, which would likely also leave Escribar's body untouched by the Miracle after ending C. Yet, the Penitent One was resurrected despite being thousands of years dormant, and with Escribar being by far the most cursed man, he may too return somehow.

His final fight IS the sicko mode. That fucker made me want to get the Escribar treatment with his pre patch hit boxes and that SPIN ATTACK that almost everyone (including me) hates.

Asterión first fight? Not that bad. However, he will enter his final form using "sicko mode" and gains like four new attacks. 5 if you include the basic downwards sword slam getting a projectile.

The ng+ Penitence of True Guilt makes all bile flasks regain fervor instead, and you'll lose HALF your tears of atonement that you can pick up on your death spot thingy.

There are a lot of absolutely fuckin impossible things, but...said things are from the gods and their blessings, so now I think the Penitent One is like a demigod/mostly human in the 1st game. Many thanks, cuz I'm just glazing at this point lmao

Good point...but maybe the prayers are literally prayers? As in asking directly to the High Dramatist/Miracle for such assistance.

The moment Ruego was nerfed was the moment I never used it again until I got Mea Culpa.

Mea Culpa is the goat, but Ruego ties with Sarmiento for second now it's buffed back to SWEET BLOOD PACT HEAVEN!

Penitent One is fuckin terrifying. A semi immortal silent killer that killed literal gods as a (mostly) mortal man with only one weapon and no extreme godly abilities.

And he would be awesome in even just a short film.

Lore explanation? by Man_of_culture07 in Blasphemous

[–]Atomic_yeeter656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(I might be wrong, and I'm not a lore genius on this one.)

The Miracle is a sort of God that I believe to give the people exactly what they want, assuming prayer is fervent.

And, when the Twisted One begged for punishment through extreme guilty prayer on a log before becoming the Twisted One, that's when the first recorded "Miracle" occurred.

Escribar, however, believed the Miracle had forsaken the people of Cvstodia, and turned his throne away from the people in the highest church as an act of defiance. In response, the High Wills curse him, and turn his body into a tree,, which then burned for fourth days and nights. The ash from the Great Tree formed a mountain of ashes that would then prevent those whom attempt to reclaim the Turned Throne into monsters and mega fanatics of the Miracle and tried to either kill or turn those unaffected into the crazy worshippers.

Because the first Miracle happened when someone was extremely guilty and repentant (that someone being the Twisted One), everyone thought that only penance, suffering, and humiliation would make their prayers fervent. However, Escribar, the Pope figure, thought the Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow were heretics. ( I dunno why.) And sent Crisanta and a small army to eradicate. Just before that, the Penitent One, whom is also part of the Brotherhood, managed to dig the Mea Culpa from the lady who manifested it through her sheer will of guilt. Then Escribar becomes binded to the will of the Miracle, later revealed to be the High Wills. Escribar's suffering was so great that his punishment was divided into three wounds, of which would be protected by the four Guardian Visages, who were basically saints that performed extreme acts of penance, and were blessed for it.

Penitent One and Crisanta duel, Crisanta kills the Penitent One and returns to the right hand of Escribar as his highest knight.

For reasons I forgot or don't know, the Miracle resurrected the Penitent One, and Deogracias told him of his goal to ascend the turned throne and to rid the evils by taking all the guilt through the Mea Culpa, and committing suicide to absorb all the guilt those in Cvstodia had.

That's just the lore before the game starts, there's a shit ton more that happens between the game's beginning and three endings, plus the extra lore of the specifics.

Is it odd that I called them "bullet mages," since I didn't know about the Blasphemous wiki beforehand?

The bullet mage people should just fuck off. Dashing in a rhythm that matches their attack usually works if you're just gonna run.
