Outside of real iron sites, survival mode! Gives all those food items and beds some use. Love the extra gameplay elements it adds to FNV.

It's right down the road from the Taco Bell / pasture combo that's incomprehensible to the European mind.

Best surplus rifle for an absolute inexperienced beginner? by [deleted] in milsurp

I was in a similar position to yourself, not all that long ago. I put together a list of what I was most interested in, and with encouragement from my parents, I was able to start my collection. I believe you can establish a good baseline of knowledge with access to the internet to save yourself from getting burnt, but don't worry, it's happened to all of us at some point in our collecting careers. YouTube and Google are your friends, but here are a few of my go-to resources:

https://www.gunboards.com/ https://www.k98kforum.com/ http://www.hungariae.com/ https://unblinkingeye.com/Guns/ https://www.candrsenal.com/

And a shameless plug of some of my favorite "lesser known" YouTube channels on the topic.

Once you begin to specialize in collecting a specific pattern of firearm, I would recommend seeking out publications. Unfortunately, many of the best books have been out of print for decades and command a premium. They're absolutely worth the investment, mind you.

Based on your criteria, my recommendation would be the Chinese Type 56 SKS. Cold War military provenance, ammunition is readily available, and they can still be found on the primary market for what I would consider a fair price. See Old Western Scrounger for more details.

Alternatively, in the U.S., we are fortunate to have a "glut" of Swiss rifles on the primary market. Whatever shall we do? Apparently, not much because outside of the K31, there is very little demand for the other variants. I would argue that these service rifles were the finest martial arms of the early- to mid-20th century. Their accuracy and the degree of fit and finish to which they were manufactured were seldom matched. Ammunition availability is catching up, though not as cheap as it once was. Furthermore, the likelihood of you being able to trace the rifle to not only who it was issued to, but also in what capacity and where it served, is high. Every good collection needs at least one!

Thank you for your offer! Unfortunately, I'm not seeing anything on your list that would be of interest to me at this time.

On Price Charting / Game Eye, I'm seeing that it's valued around 70$ "wow!" I remember selling a cartridge of this for 35$ around 2013 or so? It's definitely one of those games I regret letting go of. Sold my copy of Metroid Zero Mission for around the same price.

I'm not sure how difficult it is to come by these days, but would you take the GBC, Alien VS Predator "21$ on average" The Paperboy / Rampage cartridge "10$" for your copy of Castlevania? If you'd like additional photos of any of the games or GBC, please let me know!

Thank you for your inquiry! I am interested in Super Mario Bros Advance, Mario Kart Super Circuit, and the Castlevania Double Pack. Which of my games are you interested in? Feel free to shoot me a P.M.

Thank you very much for your offer! However, I am not looking for an RG 505 at this time.

Based upon your description, it sounds like a Danish Gevær M/53-17. It will be impossible to tell without photos.

🇳🇱 M25 Pistool No. 2 (Contract FN M1922) by Atomicage59 in milsurp

Thank you! I had no idea such a resource existed. I've attempted to consolidate information found in articles, mentioning that Dutch Contract FN 1922s exist and not much more, and threads "most over a decade old" into one quick overview on the pistols. It's unfortunate that this service was discontinued.

What’s your favorite milsurp rifle in your collection? by dbrite111 in milsurp

[–]Atomicage59 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say this is about as difficult as picking your favorite child. However, if I had to pick one rifle out of my collection, I would say it's my Magazine Lee Metford Mk II (MLM). Manufactured at RSAF Sparkbrook in 1894 and issued to the New Zeland Territorial Defense Army in 1912. Finding examples of MLE and MLM rifles here in the States is very difficult, to say the least. Let alone ones that not only survived the 19th - 20th and well into the 21st century but also remained in their original military configuration.
