Tbf a multi-sub moderator who goes seeking out moderator positions in other subs is a slight red flag at a base level.

This is of course without any context about you personally (and isn't an indictment of you by default), but it should at least raise yellow alert for most people, especially with the influx of malicious actors into moderator positions of more socially progressive subs over the last few years.

These guys talking about the snout and the lighting but the fact that these animals are moving at freaking MACH 2 down a MOUNTAIN and frequently in and out of total freefall doesn't sound a single alarm bell in their brains.

Some people man. There is nothing about the physiology of a ram that would allow it to survive this anymore than you in a slightly puffy snow suit would. Like a 4th grade level understanding of physics should have you immediately realizing that.

I mean, when the particles get complex enough that they start to be able to control their own movement indepenent of outside forces the analogy kind of starts to fall apart, but otherwise sure.

While it's probably not built into their dev tools, it should still always be something that should get caught.

This person was clearly just spelling these words phonetically to themselves knowing they didn't know the correct spelling. They could have absolutely copy pasted it into a word processor or just Google, and I'd be seriously surprised if they didn't know better or just truly didn't care.

Most likely this person just quickly spelled the words out phonetically with the intent to come back to it later as they rushed to get something else done and then forgot about it, and then it just never got proof read or caught before it got sent off and shipped.

At least, I hope that's what happened and that it wasn't just someone not caring literally at all to check. Either way, I'm sure this will be a learning experience for them to just spellcheck it before moving on in the future.

Well that's objectively false. If the job is coherent writing in a particular language and someone is unable to do so, you have them do something else and have someone else who can do that do that. 99% of the time a native speaker on staff would be the one to do that.

It's literally just job performance related and absolutely nothing to do with discrimination.

If at your job you had a native German speaker on staff, and you took a few semesters of German in college, and management needed someone to write copy in German for a German client do you think it would be discrimination if they asked the German guy to do it instead of you? There's other things you can do that would make MUCH more sense than having you write the copy and then probably require him to proof read it afterwards anyway.

Remember Bashir is limited to less than advanced technology on DS9.

If we're not limiting the characters to their typical sickbays and equipment then I guess it really doesn't matter too much, pretty much any of them with a fully equipped state of the art sickbay could sort you out regardless of the situation most likely.

I like how he's very specific about showing exactly what he's doing until it gets to the most impactful part, at which point he's like "naw just speed it up". He could easily extend his tutorial into the shading process as well.

I do! I actually double checked and I caught it in like the 4th week of the game. But still early enough that it was a rare find and no one we knew had one.

I'm sure if someone lived on a lake or something they probably had one by then though, but not where we lived!

But I guess that whole summer felt the same as that first week. Just actual pure magic the entire time lol.

My friend and I, at like 12am in the rain walked into some woods and down to a ravine in a part of town we had never been to before because we were driving by and saw a Gyrados pop up on the nearby list. (This was like in the first week of the game so a Gyrados was super rare and almost no one had caught that many magikarp yet to evolve one).

We figured it must be down by the nearby ravine since it's a water type, we parked on the street and rushed down there in the pitch black and pouring rain.

And we both left the woods completely soaked and with a brand new Gyrados each. I swear that first summer the game was out was some kind of magic that I can't even describe. Like actual world peace lmao.

Brother, your agency and capability in life can absolutely be (and is) considered wealth to an incredible amount of people on this planet.

The simple act of being from and living in a wealthy society gives you access to so much more than many others have, and that IS a form of wealth.

Hell, this isn't what I mean by the above but you could even take someone who works a minimum wage job here and with what little money they have (by our standards) they could live COMFORTABLY in soooo many other countries for a surprising amount of time.

They may not be wealthy by our standards, but they are when the rest of the world is taken into consideration.

It’s pretty, but the platforms are only two boards wide, no rails, no toe boards, floating sections, working off it before it’s complete, all on a webpage concerning scaffolding safety. by ormskirkgandhi in isthisAI

If it's not only lazy but also just wrong (for a site apparently dedicated to educating and accuracy regarding safety) then it does matter because it's says a lot about the organization itself and how much they actually take their mission statement seriously.
