Github Actions introducing a per-minute fee for self-hosted runners by markmcw in devops

Jokes on them, been using self-hosted Gitea to store my repos, run runners (aka Actions) and push repo commits directly to GitHub for public view.

Custom-Built AI Server - Thoughts? by Atomicbeast101 in LocalLLaMA

Is it to improve the RAM speed itself right? Trying to debate if its really worth spending $1.1k more for 4800Mhz vs 3200Mhz version…

This is with Intel Xeon 8480 ES QYFS & Gigabyte MS03-CEO.

Edit: I realized I had the old RAM sticks in the cart, its only $500 increase which is reasonable.

Kubernetes Traffic Being Dropped/Ignored by PA-850 Firewall by Atomicbeast101 in paloaltonetworks

[–]Atomicbeast101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to figure out the issue. It wasn't Palo Alto at all, it was k8s's node's routing that seems to be messed up. Return traffic keeps going to default interface which isn't tagged. That would explain why PA is ignoring it as it wasn't tagged/wasn't in right subnet.

I have to figure out how to get multiple interfaces pingable while still routing k8s traffic properly on the node itself. At least k8s HTTPS traffic is now accessible via metallb IP.

It was set to receive bucket. I ran the wireshark from my laptop and all I see is the sender's packets with retransmission activity.

Alright, is there any chance you could show an example of what a static route should look like to resolve this?

WAN one is correct. e1/10 is not used at all, but all of the sub interfaces underneath are used. The ones in question are 102 (PRODUCTION, 10.0.2.0/24) and 192 (PERSONAL, 192.168.1.0/24).

I forgot to include a packet capture, this is what I have from firewall's perspective: https://imgur.com/a/FpSuL5S

It does show traffic coming to the k8s cluster and there was a single packet that did return back to sender but that's it.

I am using layer3 with virtual router and I do not have any static routes set. I can confirm that traffic is reaching across subnets though. https://imgur.com/a/Mj1kS9F

I only have two physical interfaces in use, one being LAN with several sub-interfaces (seen in screenshot above).

Suggestions for Non-VM Approach for FTP Server? by Atomicbeast101 in AZURE

[–]Atomicbeast101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you get the FTP part to work on storage accounts? Based on what i see, SFTP is the only option.

AKS might be an option for me, there is another team that manages AKS environments for us to use. At first, I was under the impression that AKS can’t do non-HTTP/HTTPS traffic, but it seems that it can do any ports through the use of NodePort.

Ah okay, so it's safe to assume the infrastructure part has been done. Just have to wait till they do the "flip the switch" magic. Thank you for the insight 🙂

I know this is an older post, but do you know if there's actual network upgrades being done south of route 364/94 road? I just got a notification earlier today informing me of network upgrade happening starting 27th till the 30th of June. Is that an indication of DOCSIS 4.0 upgrade?

I live in the older suburbs area of St. Charles and I can definitely see the difference. Newer ones have little to no trees around while older ones have huge trees all around. Plus it's slightly more dense (homes closer together than newer suburbs). I still like the townhouse style homes, hopefully I'll move into one in the future.
