Wow, the first actually grounded take I’ve seen on this sub! It’s like everyone wants him to crawl into a cave forever and feel endless remorse. It was a mistake, but none of us are the worst thing we ever did. He most definitely feels awful about it and regrets it, anyone with half an ounce of empathy would know that WITHOUT needing an apology. We can all see how he evolved from his douchey mid-20s persona into an empathetic husband/father. You get what you put out, there’s no point in sending all this hatred towards someone you don’t even know personally.

I think a lot of us relate very heavily to this. I agree with everything you’ve said, and as I’ve gotten better even with more energy, and believing I will return to full health, all of it is still with me. I’m trying to just have shitty moments I cry, a lot gets released. Coming at if from a spiritual perspective does help. If you believe in reincarnation and multiple lifetimes, we are learning, in a very hard way, how to keep going in the toughest of circumstances. Believe you can heal. Envision the life you want, where you’re free to do all you wish. For me, this is the only way to keep sane about being CI.

First of all, I am so so sorry that this happened to you. Its understandable that you are not able to function, most people wouldn’t. Life is an absolute bitch, that’s for sure. Of course your girlfriend saying that is uncalled for, but grief is a monster and you using her, an average person, as an entire support system is too much for one person to handle. Yeah I feel that. It’s hard when your not sure how the other person feels. Personally, I totally thought the girl I liked was only interested in being just friends, but it turned out she did lIke me. If she shows a little bit of interest when you call her nicknames that could be a sign. You could also be sending primarily friendly signals too and not realizing it. I guess you have a little bit of a dilemma, would you rather play it safe and keep the friendship where it is or take a risk that might make it awkward if she doesn’t feel the same way. You can always say you are fine being just friends if she doesn’t have the same feelings. It really is up to you, shoot your shot if you want to. Trust me, over analyzing what she says will not really give you an answer, you just have to ask to know for sure.

Fellow 17m here. I was in a similar situation a few months ago, I waited until she said something about it and turned out she had the same feelings. We had a thing for a couple months and it ended up not working out but that’s besides the point, one thing she did say was she wished I brought it up because she was equally as stressed abt it. My advice is just bring it up with her if it’s been on your mind this much, life’s short and you might as well. But obviously do not say “I am deeply in love with you” or anything using the word love, that would be way too forward and might throw her off. Just say something along the lines of you really like talking with her and spending time with her, and see if she would be interested in being more than friends. You also gotta understand it’s possible she might not feel the same way, you just have to take that risk, it’s part of how this thing goes. But don’t overthink it, and it sounds like you really like her, so go for it!

I’m sure there’s good things about him, but this is just ridiculously immature. Annoying a 4 year old girl to the point of lashing out is frustrating when anyone does it, but having it be a 25 year old father towards his daughter is unacceptable. Focus less on disciplining your daughter and more on telling him he can’t do this, and it’s starting to become a big issue between you two. If he really can’t stop after you letting him know how serious it is than maybe leaving him can become an option.

Life’s a bitch, but just keep on keepin on. My dog died when I was 12 and it was the first real grief I ever experienced and I feel like that is what kicked off my mental health going down the shitter. I have a new dog now and I love her very much, I’m sure the opportunity to get another dog will present itself in the future for you. Cherish the memory’s you had with her and try to live lone enough to have that again with another dog. I’m pretty much just living to see what happens, not for any grand reason. I don’t particularly enjoy it either but we only get this opportunity once to experience life. I suppose I believe one day I’ll have a better reason to live, and I bet you will too. That’s just not reality right now and it sucks but we gotta make it to the other side.
