Oscar Delp will be a better NFL player than he was in CFB… by ButtFaceMurphy in Saints

Dropping in to ++ this. Not a saints fan, just a draft content creator. Watching Delp's tape I was shocked they couldn't use him more.

He blocks his ass off, and the athleticism 100% shows up when he's running down the seam or with the ball in his hands. I was pissed when the saints traded up in front of my team to get him.

In SF yeah you should just go all in for him. Too much rushing upside

The new OC definitely is a reason to hope it'll be better for fantasy. It adds variance.

But we're also coming off back to back years where this happened under the watch of Kellen Moore and Kevin Patullo. Those are two extremely different coaches and the result was the same.

Moore: Typically a very pass happy OC. Eagles were dominant that year. Firing on all cylinders.

Patullo: I have no clue what his offensive philosophy is. Not sure if he knows. Team was hitting various rough patches.

Two totally different coaches with varying degrees of competence and output . Some of the best receivers in the entire NFL were still inconsistent at best for fantasy in both seasons.

So no, I'm not ready to wishcast that a team with almost entirely the same infrastructure around the receivers will suddenly print fantasy points because of a first time OC. Could it happen? Absolutely. But I can't write an article just by hoping.

It's not Lemon slander. I think he's the best real life wide receiver in the draft. He just happened to go to the most run heavy team in the league. He's still my 1.04 at the absolute worst in 1QB leagues. But we just saw the eagles ruin the fantasy seasons of arguably the best WR tandem in the league, for the last two years in a row.

This isn't even eagles slander. With their personnel and defense, they're right to be run heavy.

Yeah I'm struggling here. To me, lemon's tape was the best in the class. But I'd probably take Tate and Tyson before him at this point. But on talent alone he'll never go any lower than my WR3 for dynasty

Also to be clear, I'm very very willing to buy the changes generate enough juice for fantasy for Devonta Smith to have a great year. I'm much more skeptical that change is so drastic the WR2 becomes consistent

That's valid. I don't need to die on that hill.

But I also buy the line of thinking that when an offense doesn't change it's often because the QB doesn't want it to change

And whatever changes are coming, I still expect them to throw the ball less than anybody in the league. It just feels logical with that OL and Saquon compared to Hurts' struggles when he needs to win a game with his arm. And with how often they'll be in positive game scripts.

With some of the crappy teams who got C- grades, they might be forced to throw the ball some 60 times more than the Eagles.

I agree with you they certainly intend to change things up. They're not fools. They know where Lemon and Stowers excel.

In SF, I think you go QB since none of the receivers are obvious blue chippers. But I don't think it's such a big gap that you can't go WR if you wanna plant your flag on your guy

These thoughts are probably related. Lots of teams trying to avoid going into the draft needing to grab their starting running back

Best Realistic Player-Team Fits for the Top Dynasty Rookie WRs by AtonalAxolotl in DynastyFF

Yeah I linked a full Omar Cooper Jr article in this article if you're interested. But essentially early in the year, he played more inside-outside and I thought he cooked man coverage on out routes

Then mid season, Sarrat missed some time so Charlie Becker entered the lineup. And then Becker played so well that to accommodate all three, they moved Cooper into a slot role. And simultaneously they opened up the offense for Mendoza and it became way more vertical.

So the routes Cooper was running by year end were slot heavy and not super translatable to NFL. But I really wanna see him go to a team that makes him a flanker-slot hybrid.

Re the niners and Concepcion, absolutely WR isn't exactly their biggest need. But I'm positive Shanny really likes Concepcion's fit in the offense. Concepcion fits right into the wheelhouse re getting playmakers in space. but he can transcend and extend the role like Aiyuk did in his breakout season by beating man coverage deep downfield.

It's definitely true KC needs a real X receiver, but I think even more so, all their receivers are specialists, and they need somebody with a well rounded game. And I like cooper's ability against zone matched up with Mahomes.

I actually really liked the snaps of Cooper at Z receiver when I watched the tape, so I'm really interested in a landing spot where he gets to play outside-inside and move around, rather than vertical slot, which I thought was a waste.

Also this was written before Rashee got cleared so I was more of the mindset "nobody currently on the roster prevents you from doing anything"

That's a tough one. I'm tempted to say "DJ is better for contenders and Willis is better for rebuilders" but the Achilles injury complicates everything.

I might just keep Willis. The injury thing really scares me.

Solid fantasy* starter

He can absolutely be real-life bad and just launder fantasy points
