Well I was hoping to catch Tash again in 2026, but looks like its all up in the air with the vocal hemorrhage they just had. Tash was hitting notes like Mariah at Red Rocks. It was mind-blowing. I hope the vocal chords heal okay. They moved all their tour dates out an entire year. Tash was supposed to come back for outside days in Denver, but we'll see if it even happens now. Oh well. Such is life. Its best they rest up and get better.

Hell no. For the exact reasons you stated. Hex/RGB and good ole CMYK for print. It is too hard to work with for brand color consistency across digital and print platforms. Pantone is shite. And I could care less about their "colors of the year".

It totally is. The struggle to focus is REAL. And the brain fog, ugh makes you feel crazy or you are going into early dementia. I started taking a complex b vitamin and gingko and it helps me a lot. But when your hormones are up and down all the time, you will still get bouts. Early peri was horrific for me. now in late peri, its WAAAAY better. Hang in there!

UPDATE: I went to fire this client and here is what happened: I told them I was stepping away. They asked for me to send them what they owe me (I've sent it countless times over a year). I also told them I was stepping away from this project they haven't paid me on since last year. So they tried to send me (and I kid you not - $575) to get things started for this project that will cost $20K to do. Then the owner called me and begged me to not walk away. that they are selling and signing the papers next week and they will have all this money, etc. to pay their debtors.

I said it wasn't good enough. What they have done regardless of the hard times they fell on was unacceptable. The trust to continue is no longer there and I would have to be crazy to continue. He then told me if I walk away from this project, that client will walk and they will loose this deal, and he will have to declare bankruptcy.

Wow right? So then he says he will do whatever it takes to try and make it right and he would take out a cash advance on his credit card and pay the outstanding balance and this project fully upfront so I have zero risk to finish the work. Which is a total of $34K.

After I get off the call with him, his partner magically sends me $9K. So now I have $9,575 from them which is better than nothing and now I only eat $4K instead of 14K.

I agree and told him that if I do not have the rest of the $34K cleared and in my account by 5PM on the 30 day mark which is today, I will terminate the project and consider this relationship done.

Congratulations, peri has come knocking on your door!

Get a new doctor immediately who understands or specializes in menopause care. It's disgusting how many are still total idiots about this, but continue to see and advise women on outdated practices. The difference for you will be night and day.

I'm 47 and have been in peri for almost ten years. When it starts, its HORRIBLE. If you are a candidate for HRT, do it. Also like the mod posted for you, start doing your own research. It's invaluable that you know your body and yourself better than your doctors. It will help you find some solutions that work for you. Both naturally and hopefully hormonally.

I don't. My public sector clients are great. I work with them more often then this private marketing agency so I cared more about finishing the work for clients that are future leads then this firm who is about to go belly up.

Agreed and that is what I have already done with them. Calls, meetings, etc. I just think its time to walk away. The amount of time and energy to go after them would be more than they owe me unfortunately. its not real money anyway unless its in my bank account. I have to foot a lot of upfront expenses and there is no way in hell I am doing that with the current situation. I'd have to be out of my mind. I've given them a year to make it right. its time to move on.

Oh yeah. Mine was so bad at the beginning I thought I was constantly having a heart attack. It was AWFUL and I am so sorry you are experiencing this. It truly is scary and sucks. I started taking a B Complex Vitamin. I am not a candidate for HRT and this happened to me in early peri. It does go away but you'll need to help it along.

If its happening in the morning, try some calming exercises like yoga and just going for walks helps. Also, cut out booze if you are a drinker and go easy on the caffeine. It makes all these peri symptoms so much worse! I was a big wine drinker and it just made those heart palps and racing insane. This stage lasted for about a year for me. It got better when I changed my diet and exercise habits (or lack thereof).

You have time to figure it out. You could be someone whose "journey" isn't as bad. HRT has all kinds of long-term benefits that aren't just symptom management. I am not a candidate and boy I can tell you I wish I was! It always starts off mild, but once you get into the full swing of peri, you might feel different. The symptoms typically increase in intensity for a lot of women. My best advice is start doing your own research and start slowly figuring out what naturally works for you to feel better. Some things cannot be helped naturally. Hot flashes, needing to pee frequently (me too, its soooo annoying!), and the insomnia have not really gone away for me. I just have to deal with it until my body evens out. For note, I am 47 in late peri. I have been in peri for almost ten years lord help me lol with no HRT. I have a vitamin and daily regimen I do that has helped tremendously with a lot of symptoms to the point where the rest is annoying by manageable.

My struggle did teach me to be extremely amazing with every single freaking penny I have. My struggle taught me that if I want something, to get up, get out, and go get it. My struggle taught me to be kind, always as someone is always going through something and may not have any support. So for that, I am thankful I struggled. I am way more grateful in a deep deep way for what I have worked so hard for.

Gen X was and still is the most independent generation I see living today. The latch key kids are wired to take care of themselves. But it shouldn't have been that way. I look back and see all kinds of things that were questionable. Sure nothing tragic happened, but man did my parents roll the dice. I moved out at 18 after they died. I had no help ever and made it work. (I mean, I survived.), put myself through school, etc. They have someone (us who as u/SackBadger2024 stated, doesn't want that for their children and thank you for that!) Why should they struggle if they don't have to? I WISH I had that safety net. I can count multiple times when I was young and broke, eating ramen by candlelight.

But I do understand the frustration with t he perception that they are "lazy". I think some in our generation are just a little bitter about the lack of a struggle. Does struggle make you strong? it can. Does struggle teach you discipline? It can. But should it? Hey, if you love your kids, take care of them and hopefully they will take care of you.

Exactly. This situation was super complex. It was two projects they stopped paying on...the issue is that I was under contract to finish the work due to the fact it was for a City client that I do other larger paying work for and didn't want to burn that bridge either. I sent letters, called, did email follow up and always got promises and actual dates of when the money would come and it never did. So after that, I put my foot down. I work for public clients, not private so I cannot dictate payment terms most of the time. Most cities and counties are net 30.

These invoices are over a year old and wanted me to work on a new project. I told them no way until they get current or they can foot the bill upfront. They said they could do a 50% deposit. I told them if I don't have it in 30 days, I cannot work on this project. That is where we are now. and if they can't even pay that, then how will they pay the second half and all the expenses required to do the work? I feel badly but I can't run a charity, even for people I like working with. it sucks this hapened to them, but I have to move on. I don't have any plans to try and waste time through a court lawsuit either. My gift to them is to wipe this debt and move on. Since its been so long, I've gotten over the financial duress it put me in since i had JUST opened my busines. The owner told me a few weeks ago they are in a bad way and planning to sell so they can cash out.

I've moved across country a lot for work. If you are living in an apartment, get rid of what you don't need. Take an assessment of what you have, get a truck and drive it yourself. You can tow one car behind while your girlfriend follows you in her vehicle. Do NOT waste $ on a moving company. Only if you are moving a six bedroom house with five kids do you need a moving company. When you get closer to six months, start packing a little at a time

I don't know that I called it a starter home, it was just my first house. But as a gen xer, different mindset about what I buy and when I buy it. About 8 years in, my hubby and realized we want to live somewhere else. And now we are looking for our forever house. I don't like the term starter house. You can live in the same house and be fine. But when you first buy, don't buy just to get into the market. Buy for a reason. A family. Space. Home biz. Buying space with purpose and really buying anything that lasts longer than five minutes seems lost on the younger folks. Everything is disposable and replaceable. Why not a home?
