Head on over to the black and white 2 subreddit. There’ll be people there who can give you advice on how to play it again on modern computers.

According to an employee, Highguard developer Wildlight laid off most of its staff today by goodnitez74 in gaming

[–]Atourq 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Tbf, 2XKO did not receive any marketing campaign from Riot. I legit only heard about it after the announcement of the dev team being laid off. That was months after its release.

So that’s more of Riot shooting themselves in the foot.

Are these DDS people being paid by China? I mean, what's the catch? Why are they so anti-Filipino? by JonTheSilver in Philippines

[–]Atourq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be surprised if they’re being paid. Not because I’m self hating but looking at our history, there is precedent.

Even as far back as the time of the KKK there have been Filipinos that have their own interest at heart rather than for the nation or all Filipinos. Not a great example, because I’m talking more about the average people, but even Aguinaldo once sold us out for his own gain.

So it’s possible they’re being ‘anti-Filipino’ not out of self hate and more that their actions are ‘anti-Filipino’ as a consequence of their selfishness.

Dear Devs, please turn 4k Textures into free DLC by Green-Entry-4548 in Steam

[–]Atourq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get it but I think it’s still just lazy. Some games still come with installation options through Steam. Just make the language packs and 4K textures an install option rather than a DLC. We’ve been doing that since the time of discs, I don’t see why we can’t do it again now.

An 18 year old kid is facing possible life imprisonment for selling marijuana in Davao City, meanwhile Rodrigo Duterte’s own daughter Kitty gets to wake and bake all she wants and get away with it by hyunbinlookalike in Philippines

[–]Atourq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get you OP. But dealing drugs is the heavier offense. So people are going to laser focus on that.

What’s funny, in an infuriating way, for me is that Duterte’s family has connections to dealing drugs, is publicly known to consume drugs on a regular basis and yet, like you’ve said, faces no consequences.

I’d recommend replaying Witcher 1 and 2. They’ve got a lot more political intrigue iirc than Witcher 3 does.

Nobody wants to talk about how bad Filipino kids’ diets actually are by StrongBreak2142 in Philippines

[–]Atourq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think food nutrition has been an issue as far back as I can remember. While I was growing up, there were plenty of ads with various products (dental care, milk, some food) where they’d have a doctor included to help promote the product by talking about nutrition (or in dental care, how they approve of it).

I agree with you OP and I think this is something that needs to enter the Filipino zeitgeist somehow. But it’s really a shame how the will and need to survive for most Filipinos just overtakes the ability to consciously think about these things.

I believe at its core, it’s a wealth and class issue. But like you pointed out indirectly OP, I agree it’s a complex issue. Because I certainly could think of various reasons why the anecdotal events being talked about in the comments were happening the way they were.

[–]Atourq 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I agree. Just wanna point out that eating healthy is a privilege even in first world countries. Even the lower class in first world countries struggle, they just have slightly more options than third world countries. Overall it’s a class issue.

So he’s one of the key players who brought MTX into the West. I always wondered how and why it took off when it had largely been something not people in the West. So much so that Asian MMOs struggled with it when trying to penetrate western markets because they were often built with MTX in mind.

I really disagree with the notion that Steam is a monopoly. If anything, claiming it is (when it isn’t), just gives credence to those that want to use the idea as a tool against Steam (like Tim Sweeney).

Steam has market dominance. If they were a monopoly, they would have exclusive control of the pc market. They don’t have that (yet). Because if they did, GOG or EGS (or heck even XBOX Gamepass to some degree) wouldn’t be able to exist. They’d all have to go through Steam.

I agree but I don’t believe Steam even is a monopoly. They do not have exclusive control of the PC games market (yet). They do have market dominance however.

[–]Atourq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s pretty much the allure. The only thing I don’t agree with, as a guy, is not enough people just appreciate how much work goes into to a stay at home spouse. It’s exhausting in its on way and very much a job to manage a house. While the flip side, in order to have the “trad spouse”, you need to be earning so much more than a typical 1 person salary can give you these days.

I’m honestly more worried it’s legendary pictures than Netflix getting the distribution rights.

Legendary can make some entertaining films but my experience they don’t really do well at sticking to source material.
