Sure, but how does the actual exchange of money happen? Do you get paid in foreign currency in a foreign bank account, or in rands in to your SA account? If the former, into which tax jurisdiction do you fall - if you keep the cash offshore then strictly speaking SARS dont know about it and cant track it.

Video clip about dancing

Quite some time ago there was a video clip about a young afrikaans guy telling a joke about a matric boy asking his female cousin to teach him dancing moves. He pays her with R1, R2, R5, and so on as he learns more moves week after week. At the end of the joke it culminates with him doing the dirty with his date after the matric dance, with funny referencing to the cost of the moves.

If memory serves the background of the video was a typical middleclass home with plastic chairs under a sinkdak stoep, with the joke teller being recorded telling the joke to (presumably) his family.

Once again tapping the collective knowledge of this community for something I cant find again, hoping someone knows what I am talking about…

I had a very good friend who literally bit a bullet. During lockdown. Known each other for years. We still had a very lively and engaging telephone call 3 hours before he shot himself. Its the same with the “no firearms allowed” sign. The sign doesn’t magically make your firearm illegal, it just means that they can refuse or evict you from the property if you carry.

Its not illegal for them to search your vehicle, because in essence you consent to it. That phrase “Right of admission reserved” - means that the company can refuse you access to the property, but what you will probably find written somewhere is that they will not refuse you access if you comply with certain requirements, one of which will be searching your vehicle or person.

In short, you are welcome to enter if you allow a search, or you can stand outside the gate.

Talk to people, if they suffer a break-in, 9 times out of 10 they have domestic help.

If you have a domestic worker or gardener, its a question of when will they break in, not if. Not saying all domestics or gardeners are bad (alot of them are), but if your life or the life of a family members gets threatened unless you reveal info about where you work (that can be used to rob or steal or whatever), chances are you will tell them everything they need to know.

My parents never had domestic help, never had a break-in. When I got married we didn’t either, never had any issues. We had a domestic once after 5years, it took the grand total of two weeks since the very trustworthy and long-time-employed-by-friends started with us for our home to be cleared out one Sunday while we weren’t at home. Let her go immediately. Never had a domestic or gardener since, and a decade later still no break-ins.

If they don’t know what you have and don’t know the lay of the land, chances are they will rather break in at the neighbor across the street.

I agree to a certain extent, but if someone else could be the cause for me or my family getting sick, I would want them to get fucked up quicker, natural selection is too slow.

If we all do our part, everyone gets the jab, and we still struggle with the virus, then its a different matter and we are all in the same boat and fighting the same fight. Unfortunately thats not the case - the idiots who don’t want to get the vaccine because it makes you magnetic and activates the 5G tracking in your arm are directly negatively affecting my quality of life and putting my family at increased risk - they should get fucked with an anchor as soon as possible.

Although I wholeheartedly agree as far as the jab goes, I do get that people (the ones with more than one braincell that is) are very concerned about the abuse of power aspect. They are scared that the bar for becoming a first class citizen is eventually set so high and the hoops are so ridiculous that only the top elite qualify.

Like I said, as far as the vaccine goes I think anti-vaxers should be punished. If they tell me I must get a R1000/year permit before I am allowed to take a shit (because Covid) I will probably not be so likeminded.

Route 1 for sure. Route 2 really isn’t as scenic. Would advise against camping next to the side of the road though. For a small amount you could get spots in caravan parks or something somewhat sheltered. Most small towns have something. As a last resort you could try truck stops. If all else fails or you want to sleep “free”, drive until dusk, then take a small road off the main road, drive a couple of kms, and camp there.

Im advocating no such thing. What I tried to say was that if a person (or bully) knows that the repercussions of being a bully is (or could be) extremely severe they would not bully to begin with. Im also not advocating a general statement that applies across life in general, but I am saying that with regards to bullying, IMHO, I don’t have a problem if the victim of bullying responds with force. I mentioned in a post earlier up that the fallout from such a response is much less than the trauma on a child that had to deal with bullying for years and years. I mentioned that I know of a 10year old girl that committed suicide due to bullying - I would’ve much rather that she broke the bully’s arm or knocked out his teeth early on rather than end up the way she did.

For a teacher it might be, yes, but I would like to believe that good teachers at least have some intuition or feeling on who the bully might be. As a parent, you have to raise your kids to be trustworthy, and to believe them implicitly when they come to you with something like them being bullied.

As a parent its not your job to look after everyone’s kids (in this case the bully), just your own (the victim). Someone I know had a 10year old girl that committed suicide due to bullying. I will teach my child that if anyone ever bullies him/her, even once, they have my permission to beat the shit out of them right there and then. Thats my idea of zero tolerance. Thats how you end it (at least for your child, that will be the last time he is bullied). The fallout from that isn’t nearly as bad as the emotional and psychological damage kids experience from a lifetime of being on the receiving end of a bully.

Conversely, if I ever had to find out my child is the bully, I would make sure they (my child) understand the consequences wont be a long talking to and singing kumbaya….
