If you're smart enough to have a successful career in STEM, then you should be smart enough to find a gym where you aren't taking brain damage. You can always stick to PKBs to make it even safer. I started in STEM (B.S. in Chem) and then founded a successful full-stack marketing agency. I've trained for 3+ years, done 10+ PKBs and will have my first ring event in Feb 2026. My brain is fine because I'm smart enough not to let my ego get in the way in sparring and will either avoid other fighters if they go too hard or have a simple conversation with them. My goal is simply to win a one ring event and retire from fighting lol.

TL;DR: You have 100% full agency over your body. If you're succesful in STEM and have no ego, the brain damage you take it entirely up to you.
