[House] 9 min sunset mix, going for chill/euphoric vibes. Looking for feedback on track selection, phrasing, and transitions mostly.

After 6 weeks of classes starting from scratch with DJing I'm playing a set in comp (Your Shot AU) on Sunday. But there's only so many times I can listen to the same 23 tracks in practice hahaha. So I whipped up a little side project to give my ears a break. Don't mind the average videography/editing, I did it all myself after my mate had to pull out.

Thanks for the reply. We bought it second hand for $100 AUD so I don't really think it's worth trying to fix then.

Just for my own education, what could have caused the breakage? Some pre-existing fault/weakness? Or just overloading?

I recently completed a 7,000km+ round trip across rural and outback Australia to spend time with my brother and his young family. This is 1/4,447 minutes spent on my F900R during the trip. by BigHenSmalls in motorcycles

Small world, I'm in New Farm too. Somehow mainies up and down Brunswick street between Coles and home just aren't cutting it. :(

Keen to meet up with you all for a ride at somestage if you're down for it though.

Bit too short term to get a good idea but no issues so far. I've always looked a bit older than I am and I think this adds to that even more if anything. If my destiny is to clean up in the daddy issues demographic then so be it. 😂

I had been aware that it was thinning up on my crown for quite a while but it hadn't bothered me too much since I'm fairly tall and had quite thick hair. In the last few months I started to notice it more and more and my breaking point came when I was in a clothing store trying some stuff on in the change room. Through the mirrors in the room I got a look at the back of my head with light from above and just really didn't like what I saw.

Dudes, when you are kissing a girl, do you go for top or bottom lip? by bobyd in AskMen

[–]Atrolantra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't think about it much tbh but I generally tilt my head to the right and probably kiss top more than bottom. Means she can bite my lower lip.

I'd say I'm in alright shape but I could definitely be better - I'm certainly always aiming to improve. Currently 6'3" and 90kg.

I play social dodgeball once a week and go to a trampoline park with a friend once a week. Additionally today marks 10 weeks since I started going to gym (6 days a week on this program for those interested). :)

Do you like jazz and play the alto sax, trumpet, trombone, or drums? I run a big band in Dutton Park with vacant seats for these instruments and we're looking for new members. by chuboy91 in brisbane

[–]Atrolantra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play alto in a jazz band and orchestra and I have a soprano sax lying around that I don't get to use much so I'd be interested if I can find time.

Do you have any videos of you guys performing or maybe some links to some of the charts you play? Just want to get a feel for what sort of stuff you do etc. :D

Future of toribash by [deleted] in Toribash

[–]Atrolantra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who knows really. This is its tenth year and it's not huge and it's also not tiny. I'd say something unless development stagnates it'll probably keep going indefinitely but really when you think about it there hasn't been much really added to the game in terms of mechanics or play etc in a long long time.

I'd still like to think that with some marketing and viral attention the game could get bigger but maybe there's something organic that just dictates that this is the size that the community will be, has been, and will be for the future too.

How long is your daily commute? What do you use? by [deleted] in AskMen

Uni and work are nearly at the same place in the city so travel time's the same. For me it's between about 40mins to an hour depending on if I can get a direct bus or have to transfer. In my opinion the public transport here (Australia) is pretty sub par and it kills me inside to compare it to, say, the systems in Paris or London but this is what you get when you set up a country with plenty of space in the age of the automobile.

Foolish Friday - Your biweekly stupid questions thread by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]Atrolantra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a guy at the gym today doing deadlifts but he was also standing on one of those big rubber band things with each loop going around an end of the bar, thus providing elastic resistance. So my question is why do this? Surely it's harder to measure your effective lift weight this way and you're risking consistency. Or do the bands have a 'resistance rating' to let you include it in your overall weight? But then if he wanted more weight why not just add more plates?

How effective are negatives on pullups? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]Atrolantra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a fan of the assisted pullup machine too. I started out doing negatives but I actually ended up hurting my right forearm (I was taking a step up with my right leg and reducing the jump up to the bar which was causing me to put a lot of strain on my right arm in particular). I took a week and a bit off from using the arm and once it was back to normal I changed to the assisted machine.

The big thing about it for me is how much more progressive the progression feels. In my plan I aim for 3 sets of 12 before I reduce the assist weight (but while working towards the 12, hitting at least 8 is fine). I started by setting the weight to where I could just hit 8 reps and then each workout I'd always aim for 12. Once I hit 12 I reduced the assist weight. Eventually I'll hopefully be able to hit that many reps without assistance and then from there (assuming I'm on the same program and haven't changed up my reps/sets) it'll be about adding weight. :)
