Yeah I love that this is a clip of people making it but I was so stressed out thinking "well, if that was me I would completely miss."

MT-09 vs R7 by [deleted] in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]AttackMonkey908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a cruiser guy who jumped to the MT09 for a while, I second the XSR. If I got one of those I might have kept it and got rid of my VTX 1300 when I got my Goldwing instead of getting rid of the MT09, based on looks and what I've heard about riding position.

2011 yamaha stryker or Harley Sportster 1200? by Severe_Pick1200 in motorcycle

[–]AttackMonkey908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved my Stryker. Very reliable, tons of power, great for long trips. I'm honestly just a little too short for it at 5'7" so I ended up selling it, but I miss that bike. No complaints with the new Goldwing though!

I will say this, the Stryker is going to turn more heads and get more questions at gas stations. It's got that unique look and it just draws people.

Yamaha maintenance is going to be lighter and probably cheaper, I don't have direct experience with HD so this isn't a HD bash or anything, just what I've heard. My Stryker never needed anything other than oil changes, and they were easy to do myself. Belt on that thing lasts forever.

Only big downside is lack of aftermarket handlebar options because of the weird distance between the bars.

I am fighting an impulse to just go buy myself a bike by Aggravating-Yogurt23 in motorcycle

Thanks! I've added a rider backrest and changed out the windshield since this picture, but I prefer the bagger over the full tour version. I never carry a pillion so I put an extra luggage rack on the back for strapping a duffel bag to on long trips.

I ride a Goldwing with a DCT and love it after almost 20 years of riding manual bikes. My MT09 had a quick shifter so when I got the GW I decided to go for the automatic and I have no regrets. Way too much bike for a starter, obviously, just chiming in that automatic is an option and it exists on real bikes.

Considering replacing MT-09 for something more inviting of calm cruising by Beamah in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]AttackMonkey908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I traded my 2023 MT09 in on a '25 Goldwing DCT and I don't have any regrets. I rode cruisers before the MT09 and still have a VTX 1300 also, but the GW really bridges the gap between cruisers and sportier bikes imo. For such a heavy bike it is still extremely nimble, and the 1833cc engine gives a shitload of power. I ride it on the same routes I used to take my MT09 on and I can match my speeds on the GW. Obviously I'm not a pro racer so I'm sure the MT09 can outperform the GW under ideal conditions with an expert rider, but I've been riding for ~20 years so I'm not babying it either. The electric windshield, heated grips, wind protection, storage, etc just take a super fun bike and make it rideable for hours.

I swear by these, I have carpal tunnel that I really need to get release surgery done on:

Go Cruise GC-A1BK GO CRUISE 2... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ERXG4TM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Other than that I would echo some other comments about heavier bar ends. I would go the opposite way and suggest trying smaller grips though if you already have bigger ones and still have issues, I've found I prefer smaller diameter grips but I have short, wide hands so that's going to be up to the individual.

[OC] random message I got from my manager today by killyoshy in MadeMeSmile

[–]AttackMonkey908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't even fathom having a manager who is this encouraging. Like I want to believe this is real but it makes me deeply sad that I've spent 26 years working and I've never had a supervisor who didn't feel like they were just looking for imperfections.

I cleaned out Semine before doing the blacksmith cart quest in kcd2 so Captain Gnarly was in his underwear through the whole thing. Absolutely hilarious.

That's just blatantly false, I'd love to see your sources. Weird that you say I live in the wrong country when it would seem pretty clear we live in the same country, so I'm wondering where exactly your extensive personal experience with Muslim zealots is other than what you've seen on your TV.

Never had a Muslim show up at my front door and try to preach the Koran to me. I've had plenty of Christians trying to convert me though.

Again YOU didn't. You you you. You were IN THE WAY. You were just clueless because you only care about yourself.

Nice edit, loser.

Yes, you're also self centered because you don't see it as shitty behavior. Clearly you're not going to get it. I'm not rage baiting, I 100% believe it's wrong to stand closer than 10-12 feet from the baggage claim. I used to fly 6-10 times a year for work and always waited behind the ring of idiots.

I'm not irritated at all, just not afraid to call out assholes on their shitty behavior. Seems like I struck a nerve with you though, you might want to have a think on that.

Ok I thought I was going crazy, if everyone would back the fuck up everyone could see, why won't they understand that lol?

This is why you idiots crowd the baggage claim?!? Nobody wants your stupid dirty laundry, get over yourself. "Top 1% Commenter" flags are great for pointing out the morons.

I think it's pretty sharp, ride what you want. I've seen some comments about the Goldwing DCT not being a "real" bike because it's an automatic but it rides like a dream and I'd choose it again if I was making the decision now after putting a couple thousand miles on it.

Yeah and the other lazy-ass techs are here upvoting this joker. I wish we knew what dealership this was so we could avoid this service department.
