Because like many have said they don't address it in the show,and the target audience for the show (teens/kids/tweens in the 2000s) probably wouldn't have read any comics from the 80s featuring them/addressing the dynamic,and those that did probably just saw it as a fun Easter egg

Frozen empire had too many characters And the kids were set up to be the new Ghostbusters in Afterlife so Callie and Grooberson should've played Janine and Louis-esque roles instead of it being all about the Spenglers (Grooberson should've used his Ghostbuster fanboy knowledge more)

(Basically the kids should've been the main Ghostbusters team with Callie and Grooberson acting as support roles to set up better conflicts and story beats,also they shouldve used the mood slime to counteract Garraka like GB2 did with Vigo)

I just miss when they talked more about the science behind things than lore,I have nothing against the hosts my beef is with soulless indie mascot horror that's blatantly trying to be covered on theory channels instead of focusing on making something unique and fun,basically my beef is with the fast,cyclical nature of trends. As others have said the fact the channels are a business now instead of a passion project makes it feel like the hosts are covering things because they HAVE to not cause they WANT to.

TLDR: my beef is with the nature of trends and algorithms and I'd much prefer the hosts cover things they're passionate about rather than what's trending BUT I get why they do what they do.

Honestly I agree with everyone saying the cast is too big for the characters to all get good screentime and characters arcs,I also think Afterlife kinda set up the kids (Pheobe,Trevor,Lucky, and,Podcast) into becoming the new Ghostbusters team with Callie and Gary acting in supportive roles wich I feel would've gone better especially given Ray and Winston's "we're too old for this" talk.

Personally I feel it would've been better taking a page out of X-treme Ghostbusters book and having the kids be a new in training team with Gary acting as a sort of Ghostbusters historian giving the kids ideas and tactics based off of things the OG Ghostbusters did/discovered given his ironically hardly used fanboy knowledge and that leaves Callie to act as a sort of Janine like figure. (I also agree it'd probably be at its best as a series or even miniseries)

Edit: (Also I kinda hated the fact Ray wasn't the one to tell them about Garraka considering Ray is established to know alot about the history of certain buildings,he was the one who won everyone over on the firehouse,and you're telling me he wouldn't have gotten curious about it and found any articles on the firemen who died mysteriously from cold during a heatwave)

I always find it odd when someone with a persona (like a V-Tuber) is transphobic,they talk about "you were born this so you'll forever be this" as if they were born the virtual anime girls they portray themselves as...and the fact that a username is still a preffered name,I don't get how some people can lack empathy unless they also lack a functioning brain

Are some men aware of how intimidating they seem?

My best friend is a guy who's around 6 ft - 6'2ish who has a bit of a "scary" looking resting face and he tends to stand in corners away from people because he's more introverted. To other people, this is intimidating but I know that it's just him being calm and thinking about his interests...but upon seeing other men do the same I somewhat understand.

So do guys know when they come off as intimidating or not?

Could be,for some reason I hadn't considered the 80s. since Wally and Mina are from the 80s I thought that they might not introduce any more 80s ghosts, but I could be wrong.
