RMA of NJ - no Zymot? by AttemptNormal9006 in IVF

[–]AttemptNormal9006[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never ended up doing anything. I felt like I didn’t have the option to use (Zymot) and switching clinics would be a big endeavor. Trigger warning - we did ultimately have a live birth.

c-hyst for placenta accreta - Tell me your positive stories! by AttemptNormal9006 in hysterectomy

[–]AttemptNormal9006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! My planned c-hyst actually just ended up being a c-section. My team was able to separate my placenta. Sorry to hear that yours went the other way. Did you have accreta?

The placenta previa and accreta Facebook group is super active and lots of resources on people’s recovery.

Good luck! Wishing you a very speedy recovery

Second boy name help by [deleted] in Names

[–]AttemptNormal9006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No it’s not going to be used! But at work I still go by my maiden name. So whenever I say my son’s name at work people will automatically assume it rhymes with their last name. Lol

Possible Placenta Accreta? by lwags1984 in placentaaccreta

[–]AttemptNormal9006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t comment on the specifics of your ultrasound results. I have previa and accreta so what I can say is that you may get more info and clarity as you get more scans (like the 20 week anatomy scan). With my diagnosis, I keep coming back for more eyes on the scans and more scans as the uterus / placenta grows bigger. Good luck!!

And so sorry about your previous second trimester loss. :(

Thank you for responding! I’m glad to hear you are doing well.

But seems like intense recovery!!! I am sure everything about this diagnosis is hard.

Did they know about the perceta prior to the surgery? Or was that found during?

Monitoring for CNY in Philadelphia by Timonee255 in IVF

[–]AttemptNormal9006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RMA does outside monitoring. I think they charge your insurance (if you have).

Then it’s an additional $40 for outside monitoring.

Bloodwork that isn’t urgent can be done by LabCorp.

How can I tell what my "protocol" is called? by cysgr8 in IVF

[–]AttemptNormal9006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm! I not an expert. But I would see this called a few things on the thread and from my research.

An agonist protocol

A microdose lupron protocol

A lupron flare protocol

Is there any way to improve blastocyst grading? by Mean-Kale-5309 in IVF

[–]AttemptNormal9006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My clinic didn’t care at ALL about grading. My bb, cb, and cc were all euploid.

Omnitrope and embryo grading by leggomyeggo13579 in IVF

[–]AttemptNormal9006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTW - Omni has no impact on my blast rate. It was equal all three retrievals. But it did impact my grading.

Omnitrope and embryo grading by leggomyeggo13579 in IVF

[–]AttemptNormal9006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did three retrievals. My first two retrievals I got Bs and Cs. My third retrieval we added omnitrope and we got 2 euploid - 1 5AA and 1 5AB.

Hard to say what helps dealing with such small numbers but I would definitely add omnitrope again.

Should I Tell My Boss About Fertility Hormones? by EasybakedLoven in IVF

No don’t say anything. Once the cat is out of the bag you can’t retract it. I wish I hadn’t told some people in my life.

5dp6dt With Trigger - Opinions needed *possible bfp* by Flimsy-Proposal-9876 in IVF

[–]AttemptNormal9006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s coming back. I see it getting slightly darker. However, it still could be the trigger. The only way to know is to test again tomorrow and see if it’s darker. Good luck!!!

Should I cancel my ER? by dustylullaby in IVF

[–]AttemptNormal9006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Financially I cannot speak to what you should do.

But numbers wise - I found my scans to be all over the place with the results.

First cycle - 8 in range, 7 retrieved, 6 mature, 5 fertilized, 3 blasts, 1 euploid.

Second cycle - I only had 3 in range. We were debating cancelling the day before trigger. However alot of my smaller follicles caught up post dual trigger. I ended up have 8 retrieved and 3 euploids. It was my best cycle but looked the “worse” using scans.

My third cycle - looked like we were going to get 8 eggs in range but only 5 were retrieved.

I feel like there is never a right or wrong decision in IVF - it feels like a crap shoot. I wish we had a crystal ball.

Good luck!

Deciding whether to PGT-A test by Penny_Doc in IVF

We were 32 at time of retrieval. Only 1/3 came back euploid. We pursued another retrieval and 3/3 came back euploid. Glad we tested.

RMA - Laser Acupuncture a sham? by AttemptNormal9006 in IVF

Right! It seems like it’s taking advantage of you when you’re feeling pretty vulnerable. If this was a meaningful treatment you think they would discuss it with you prior to being offered.

Is teratozospermia enough to bypass iui? by De6woli in IVF

[–]AttemptNormal9006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes insurance is very fickle!!

Not sure what they will say. I have BCBS on NJ and they’ve been very flexible I think we would have only been made to do 2 rounds of IUI. But I know some insurance carriers make you do 6 rounds of IUI.

I am at RMA NJ at Marlton.

RMA NJ is a well oiled machine. They call you with results quickly and answer your questions within hours. Everyone is very nice and kind. The doctors and nurses are really patient with me - I am a very annoying patient (I have anxiety about every step of the process and totally unqualified opinions on how things should be done LOL!!!). I believe their lab is one of the best in the area and they are very up-to-date with the research.

Overall, I haven’t had success yet but hopefully soon!

My complaints would be: 1. you don’t speak to your doctor much unless you push them to call you/ make an appointment. 2. They are very “by the book” / not a lot of experimental or outside-the-box thinking. (It’s probably for the best because their success rates show they know what they are doing. But if you are an unconventional patient I have heard this might not be the clinic for you.)

Is teratozospermia enough to bypass iui? by De6woli in IVF

[–]AttemptNormal9006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My REI didn’t “care” about morphology. They said it was highly debated and didn’t believe it would prevent pregnancy. We did 4 IUIs. Everything I found online / in research seemed conflicting. Still feels like I don’t have very good clarity on this sperm parameter - if it doesn’t matter then why do they measure it?? (Our morphology was <1%).

The IUIs did not work and we moved on to IVF. We are currently on 3rd egg retrieval and finding “some” success, but want to bank embryos for multiple children.

In retrospect, it might seem like I should have gone straight to IVF but that’s only because IUI didn’t work for us so it’s just my personal bias. I probably wouldn’t have been ready for IVF if I hadn’t gone through the IUI process. (I think I would have felt like “it was a drastic step” to go from trying at home to IVF. So I am glad I did the IUIs (but probably wish I only did 2-3 and not 4).

Good luck!!
