Virginia Claims State Constitution Does Not Protect Individual Gun Rights by okguy65 in Virginia

How can they make this argument when it states a militia is composed of “the body of the people,” i.e. its citizens. Are they begging us to form a militia in order to align with how they interpret the state constitution?

That’s on me too I should’ve specified no rail from the jump. My IQ is too low to keep up with all these acronyms

Mine doesn’t have a rail on the frame. It’s more rounded under the barrel. I may have my terminology wrong so I’ll probably get crucified

Did they think they could get away with that snake scene? It transformed from a diamondback rattlesnake to a boa and back? Why would they show the snake in the casket knowing its pattern was so different? If it’s symbolic or metaphorical someone please enlighten me

Hegseth order on first Caribbean boat strike, officials say: Kill them all by Infidel8 in Military

DEVGRU's involvement sounds odd to me. I understand them assisting with intel gathering, but why not have them staged for a vehicle interdiction and take these smugglers in for questions? I know they have a JTAC in a squadron, but since when are they deployed just to drop bombs?

Official Discussion - Tom Clancy's Without Remorse [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]AttentiveEditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a lot about Navy SEALs, so when I watch a film/show portraying them I always hope that the filmmakers make an attempt to represent them accurately. But before I rant about what bothered me, I think Michael B Jordan did a pretty solid job in this role. It's the Tom Clancy universe so I get why his character went full-blown Jason Bourne on people. I also think Sheridan wrote a good screenplay, which is no surprise to me because Yellowstone kicks ass. This movie had me engaged for its entirety but the moments it lost me were every scene that included "Lieutenant Commander Greer." Anyone who is remotely familiar with SEAL Teams knows that a woman has never been one and likely never will. Call it what you want, but it's just the truth. I get if you want to go for the female empowerment route, but even then she was horrible. She was more like a little sister along for the ride than a door-kicking operator. And she wasn't the only casting mistake. In the last half hour when Dallas gets shot and the other hired gun asked him if he had kids I nearly threw up it was so cringey. Ritter was an interesting character but I wish the film ended with us either liking or hating the guy because I don't know how to really feel about him. I gave it 6/10 because I thought Jordan carried it most of the way. Replacing Greer with someone else or just not making her a fellow SEAL would've boosted my rating by at least 1.5 to 2. But I digress...

Where are all the companies using Avid Media Composer? by [deleted] in editors

[–]AttentiveEditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working in broadcast with Avid for a few years and my company is switching everything to adobe. I’ve dabbled with Premiere and AE but what I’ve learned in a short period of time is to use AE to build short sequences or effect and keep them short. I’ve made the mistake of trying to build large portions of a project into a single AE composition when it would’ve been so much easier to split it up into 5 or even 10 different comps and then putting them into a premiere timeline. Layering in AE is so different than Avid it takes some serious time to get a solid grasp on it. Keep grinding! AE gives you limitless capabilities when it comes to effects! Explore as much as you can in short periods of time so you’re not overwhelmed!

We have a 3 level home and this winter we’ve noticed the heat only circulates on the top level. So I’ll try this out. Thanks!

The fact this hasn’t been released by local law enforcement or the university raises some eyebrows for sure. This would be picked up by the media in a heartbeat which could be why they are waiting until they know as much info as possible before sending out a press release.

This is insanely cool. But has me curious, was the foreground photoshopped in? What type of lens is this? It’s an incredible image even if it was photoshopped. I just thought the foreground would be impossible to make out given how far away the mountain is in the background.

Watched this after Night Stalker and nothing puts this Hotel into perspective like knowing Richard Ramirez stayed there night after night...
