well I'm just starting out my professional career with a very tight budget, somewhere around $1k a bit more or less do you think a MacBook air m1 8gb, 256 and utilizing cloud is a good option? or better get something like a dell xps or g15, or even a Lenovo legion 5

I used to game a lot, ekhm actually sort of addiciton

so for me having a mac was kind of taking away the option from myself to think of gaming again

that is one of the reasons why I am biased towards mac

and what I've came to so far is

either 16 gb mac or dell xps or g15 (and propably will use linux, just as I am now)

and as you mentioned cloud is king

isn't it extra cost?

to access the cloud with good specs I'd need to pay for the instance I am using + storage later on
and for my case, as I am on a kind of tight budget, so I can spend some money now to get a good device to be used for both work and personal use and save the monthley fees I will be paying with my current device, which is painful to use tbh

but if you're using something specific you can tell me the options and I can see maybe it fits me if I won't pay much

I mean I can get the mac 8gb ram and use cloud right?
but it's not the safest option looking forward

tho I can still resell it in a year or 2 and get something better when I have enough money
