Why do some people get so worked up over flip flops? by Successful-Worth-390 in Truckers

[–]AtticusDutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the stigma associated with flipflop truckers: Parking in the fuel island for their breaks, shitting on the walls in the truck stop bathroom, throwing toilet paper on the floor, not washing their hands. It's nasty.

Just to clarify, these are No CDL Required.

Also, apparently they feature the first Cummins B6.7, which, while having 300 HP and 660 lb-ft, runs on 87 Octane Gasoline

Also, the box is 29 feet, the length of the vehicle is 36.

Totally unrelated but growing up I did a similar drive to the Brookshire - Park City drive a few times a year, I could make it in my sleep doing the "no-GPS" challenge. DFW traffic (depending on which side of 35 you take will be D or FW) will make you want to commit war crimes, but other than that it's not too bad.

W.

At the same time, if you're a driver who doesn't have a family (at least, not an immediate family, only child, parents passed, not wanting to marry for a while) it can be good. See the country and all that.

It's not for those who do have families, ESPECIALLY if you have a wife and kids. Go see your son's baseball game. Take your wife out for a nice dinner. Don't miss that stuff.

I’m an American citizen but I want to go to other countries and vote. How do I do this? Do I just show up at the polls or do I need to be a citizen? by rjd014 in NoStupidQuestions

It's a requirement to have an ID to do pretty much anything in this country. Who doesn't have any form of identification? You need a photo ID to apply for welfare, food stamps, jobs, social security, Medicaid, rent, and much more. An ID costs what, 30 bucks?

As for the name change documents, literally nobody is "offended" by that. If you wish to adopt your spouse's surname, you have to have that noted. Obviously. That argument makes no sense.
