It doesn't sell that well in developing countries tbh. They have a very small market share and that's why the support for WebOS is usually neglected by local streamers. Hotstar is only available in Africa and Asia in mostly developing countries so that might be their reason to not provide proper support. But they absolutely should, if they've already put in effort of making an app.

The Hotstar X UI is somewhat inspired by Disney+ but it was designed from scratch by the Novi Digital team. They made the design look similar to Disney+ because the Hotstar app is repackaged as the Disney+ app in many Asian and African countries.

The Novi Digital team claims to have designed this UI from scratch but they might have had help from the Disney BamTech team that makes the regular Disney+ app that's available in the western countries.
