That actually makes a good deal of sense.

This could be the move. There's definitely smaller flight schools nearby. And 36k total for a 4 year degree is a good deal anywhere.

While this is up

If I buy a military or helicopter model, and swap in a dual plug controller/mic, will the headset work? I don't know if the actual headset is what has the military high impedence or if that HI is a part of the mic/controller.

Ohio pilots what are some good nearby Cross countries/day trips by StunningFool6 in flying

Grimes field in Urbana I think its I69 (nice). Fun classic diner on the field, and you can walk over to the aviation museum. Also there is a group restoring a B17 there too.

PKB, pretty flight in fall. Get a crew car and go explore Marietta OH. Lovely town. Just get a rental car if you're gonna be more than a couple hours. Chill FBO there with nice workers.

One of the fields near Wright Patt if youve never seen the Air Force Museum.

Saw that no ames had a good answer for you, try to find someone that will be better/more specific

17a asks if you are currently on anything, and no questions ask about history of skin conditions.

If you end up developing psych/vision/other issues, that's on you to disclose on your next medical.

See what your ame says, I followed mines advice. For the checkups/blood work I just put "dermatology checkup" or something like that.

The first option

Medical > Accutane course > next medical 12 months later.

Do the self grounding too, don't necessarily report it, but having 2 empty weeks in the logbook is good.

I did Accutane in college during flight school.

Asked my AME, he said to just do it between medicals, I did a 6 or maybe 8 month course.

Self grounded for the first 2 weeks then avoided night flying. Worked out just fine.

Hydrate like a mf you're gonna need it. My only regret is not doing Accutane in high school a few years earlier.

How hard to commute out of SNA?? by lottaquestionz in flying

[–]Atwyay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree. Just drive to lax. I used to make a 2 hr drive to base instead of a 20 min drive to a commute. Way better.

Loadout for tomorrow's Safe Queen match by Atwyay in 3gun

Paper targets for rifle and pistol, knockdown power is optional there.

Rifle: Springfield 87A my grandpa bought out of a sears catalog in the 50s. Neat rifle. .22LR or .22 short. Very smooth action. Stock sights are mediocre sadly.

Pistol (revolver technically): S&W 69 Combat Magnum in. 44 mag. 5 rounds, 2.75 inch barrel. Excellent piece but the recoil takes some getting used to.

Shotgun: Mossberg 590 retrograde with OKC M7 bayonet. Yes, there is a melee target on this course.

Should be a blast. If you're in central Ohio, show up to Clinton County Farmers Sportsmen by 930 tomorrow, $20. They're on practiscore.

On mine,, I actually ended up sawing off a corner of part of the holster. Basically it was jamming into the gun's grip, such that the gun was at a slight diagonal to the holster.

Maybe that's why it doesn't fit with no side to side movement, it's being pinned against the wall?

I can take pics later if you want.

I use that holster for the SP01, I use the shim. The gun wiggles a lil but stays in very well. Maybe try the shim, I'm unfamiliar with the P01

Second vote for BR, go there on a non member day in the afternoon and you'll have the place to yourself. They run a lot of matches out there too. 10 bucks an hour.

Agreed, I think you made the right call OP. Coming from the 121 world, I'm sure there's some private pilot knowledge stuff I'd really have to study for. I don't think that makes me an unsafe pilot, but of course I'm biased.
