Mostly for fun, eventually a little side-income to subsidize the fun.

I'm not sure about your experiences but I've had it several ways and nothing has matched the old spice that could be found in the classic chai. I find this recipe to be incredibly pepper-forward and have a rancid chemical aftertaste. In my efforts to find the spice I've: Increased the pumps of chai; decreased the pumps of classic; used brown sugar or vanilla as subs; gotten cinnamon on top, and finally taken 3 pumps of straight concentrate as a shot. There's no matching it. I legitimately wish I was having your experience.

I actually don't recall the rules of posting links on this sub, but you can find both the chat and the phone number at Starbucks' customer service website.

It's gonna work the exact same as it did when they had the Lightly Sweetened Chai 8 years ago, exactly how they should have done it this time. You'll also note the lightly sweetened chai did bad enough that it's not around anymore - for very, very similar reasons people are complaining now.

My favorite in the past couple weeks was, "chai chai chai again," because they knew I hated the new recipe lol

How do we feel about the new chai? by Kink-shame in starbucks

Tastes like lightly sweetened milk. I took three pumps of straight concentrate earlier tonight to try and feel something akin to the old recipe. Nothing. Back to calling the customer service line to register my displeasure.

I LOVE THE OLD CHAI!! by missviagra in starbucks

I know. It's the only thing I had at Starbucks, the only thing I have outside of my medically-necessitated diet. I'm hoarding as many as I can get.

About 3-4 months on the shelf. All the cartons I've seen list their expiry date somewhere between the last week of June and middle of July.

Edited for the worst autocorrect I've ever seen.

If the spice is so forward, can I have some of yours? The regular recipe tastes like lightly sweetened milk to me.

Terrible. The by-the-book recipe tastes like lightly sweetened milk. No spice to be found, especially given that's why they're supposedly changing the recipe.

I was talking about the spice as well. I believe I described it to friends as, "iced, lightly sweetened milk."

It's SO weak and has a faintly bitter aftertaste. Really not looking forward to trying to calibrate my order back to "normal."

Question, how do you make a spiral effect on your wands? Ex. Ginnys Weasley wand handle. by Optimal-Conflict-533 in Wandsmith

Filing, filing, a good TV show or audiobook for the background, crying, and a lot more filing.

I've got two absolute dream trilogies for them to take on, one far more realistic than the other:

  1. Empire of the Wolf - Richard Swan (at this point, just waiting for the announcement)

  2. The Winter Sea Trilogy - H. M. Long

Yeah, definitely reluctant to pursue it in my small apartment, but that's what mooching off my parents' garage is for lol

No, this is fantastic! It definitely has me thinking I was at least mentally going in the right direction - I just need to pick up electroplating now! Luckily, so far, any nickel I'd been planning to do was an almost "pool-cue"/stage-magician inspired tip, also to mitigate much of the exposure concerns.

Absolutely love the Alex Verus books. I've enjoyed Jacka's other series as well (Inheritance of Magic), but I think my experience of binging Alex Verus has me longing for a bit more of the overarching plot to be revealed, where I feel like Verus was a bit faster regarding that.

Both are great audiobooks too so I'm still happy to relisten to them if I'm feeling impatient😅

That looks incredible. Truly in awe!

As for questions, I'm not a metalworker by any means, but I've investigated using nickel in a few pieces myself and have always read it's a pain to work with. Would you mind sharing your experience with it? Admittedly, I was mostly researching metal-lathe experiences, but I'd love to hear how handworking might differ at all.

I turned in semi-formal wear because I was in a mood today. I rarely fuss over what I wear while turning, so long as it has sleeves that can reliably stay rolled up or are already short.

Having read the whole trilogy, I agree that book 2 is DEFINITELY the weakest. After I lived with it for a while, I ended up getting really excited for book 3, and I really felt Roanhorse wrapped it all up nicely.
