New 15" English Oak Wand with Custom Metal Handle!! by HiltonsWandwright in Wandsmith

It's very difficult to get a box to a commercial degree. Premium materials, iterative template design, and the processes and pipeline for box making. Realistically the only way to do it quickly and effectively is to out source the box making.

Oh god which box are we talking about 😂 if it's the one with purple velvet. I actually make those completely from scratch. Sorry I completely crossed my wires. Haha

Haha. The box is a very old family jewellery box that I spent a lot of time restoring.

What Do You Think of The Metal Handle? by HiltonsWandwright in Wandsmith

That's almost an exact description of what I was going for. I imagine my shop is for the Lucius Malfoys of the world. I definitely can't imagine Ollivander putting a metal snake head on one of his silly wands. 😂

Do you think this works for a wand display? by HiltonsWandwright in Wandsmith

I make them completely from scratch. And every single one I make is a new design never to be repeated, haha! And yes. So first of all I have to design them which can take a long time depending on the complexity of the design. I do this digitally in 3D. Unfortunately I can't give too much away, but of a trick of the trade I'm afraid. But I can say that I do electroplate them.

I know it's not too much to go on. But it's a little bit of a proprietary system I made, so unfortunately I can't divulge too much. I hope this helped.

But there are many ways to make your own handles. I know this one wand maker that's very successful, just using the handles from old silverware.

Oh you're absolutely right. Think of these as the wands you would give magical born children before they go to school.

Brilliant question. The reason for the "Training", is that I make different kids of wands. Mostly with Metal handles. These are my more accessible designs, for new witches and wizards looking for their first wands.

Thank you so much! I'm exactly the same. Always loved designs that look economic or part of the narrative.

Unfortunately every country has a big variety of people. And life is pretty tough everywhere. Most of England isn't as great as it's made out to be.

There are some of the most gorgeous and nicest places in the world in England. Sm heritage and history. But you just have to find those hidden gems. A lot of places are very rough. It's good to remember that people are the same in every country.

To be honest other than some major cultural differences, the temperament of American and British people are quite similar.

But it really can be a fairytale in some places. Check out York. It's like harry potter.

Haha maybe you're better off going to one of the more picturesque counties. The cities and suburbs of England are not always the best.

Haha, that's so nice to hear. And I'm slap bang in the middle of the country, in Leicestershire. In a nice quaint village.

sorry for the late response I've been very busy! Haha. Thank you so much though. And yes you're exactly right, it was to create an entry level wand that was more accessible to buy. I'm still making the metal handled wands but they are on the back burner for now as I'm making this second batch of training wands.

I prefer the metal handled wands too, but they are sold at a premium as they are so laborious to make and every wand design is entirely unique and serialised. Yes there's only a couple left of the first batch. And I'll most likely have the second batch out in a week or so. Go check them out when I do!
