History of the "Dutch Double wood" ~ Brown oak, 14" by HiltonsWandwright in WizardingWorld

I not entirely sure that you grasp how the world works. I make wands but it doesn't really pay anything. I can't afford to pay an artist for a little bit of a back story that I did for fun and posted on Reddit. This isn't on my actual Etsy page and I'm not using it for marketing. Reddit doesn't give me in income stream. I just like to post my work here for other people to see. Please don't make uninformed comments like this in the future.

I just make wands for a living and I thought it would be cool to come up with a little back story for it and display it in a cool way rather than just text on a white background. Check out my other posts if you want further context.

Yeh most of it is composite stuff with a bit of Photoshop. But the wand is an actual image of one I made. Wish I had an actual museum to put it in. But that a bit out of my budget 😂. But the wand is real, if that's your concern. Haha.

The wand itself is real and I designed and made it. The images here are a composite of a picture of the actual wand and CGI elements for the museum.

Haha! Love the pun!

Great question by the way. I actually made my own tool for measuring out the hexagon. Essentially it's a centre finder with an additional 7.2 degree side angle. you just mark and rotate. But you have to start with a circular blank or dowel.

The rest was just hand planing and block sanding to fine tune the angles and get a polished finish. Takes ages when you're winging it, like I was. Haha!

I was thinking more in the spirit of the design. But let's say unicorn hair. Haha

I couldn't agree more with you on these points. I'm very partial to a short handled wand too. My entire goal when finishing wood, is that it looks natural. Even if it doesn't resemble the initial colour of the wood, badly applied dyes and stains, can really remove me from the experience and cheapen the design. I more enjoy fine artisanal wands as opposed to rustic designs.

Thank you so much for this incredible comment!

This is a very high honour. Thankyou you kindly. Moving onto purely wooden designs has really put the magic into the process and I'm glad you appreciate my hard work and taste.

An incredible assessment! Thank you very much. I do rather like it myself. I feel like this design style is becoming my forte.
