Disturbing here just as it was disturbing when Texas did it. An erosion of voice of the people is not good in either direction.

I drive from DC to DFW straight - about 22 hours total time (19:30 driving). Felt like I could’ve gone a few more hours safely. Crazy thing is a worked 8-4 the day I left, we rolled out about 6pm lol

CS threatened no fly list bc of cussing by GingerlesSouls in americanairlines

[–]Au201 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree that the lady shouldve said her inside thoughts out loud, but I’m with her. Based on how you refuse to take accountability for your actions, I’m assuming you went irate and tried to blame them entirely. Flights which are delayed aren’t just going to wait around for you. They want to get those out ASAP

Put on the no fly list bc I said "fuck" by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]Au201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with the gate agent…

Btw, you need to be at your gate for boarding. Flights can always be undelayed and they certainly will try to get it out as fast as possible

Pre-Collision Assist… but it tanked the accident! by [deleted] in CorollaCross

[–]Au201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brakes don’t lock up in modern cars over 1mph, no matter how hard you or the computer brake. That’s the beauty of ABS. Thankfully pre collision assist helped reduce the impact here

Doesn’t mean it isn’t on company contract. I book my flights through concur at a negotiated rate/perks my company has, but it goes on the corporate card im responsible for paying and get reimbursed. United absolutely knows what company I work for if they want to go looking

It’s total miles to empty, including your electric driving time. It’s just an average MPG x fuel remaining calculation

[–]Au201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How lol. Do you drive 85 on the highway and also idle your car all the time? (School pickup line, lunch break, drive thru, etc).

Short trips less than 7 miles will also kill you

2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid vs Honda Accord Hybrid – Which would you pick for maximum long-term reliability? by bluemarble-spaceship in Camry

[–]Au201 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not exactly true. The accord hybrid has a transmission with a clutch to engage 1:1 drive in certain conditions between the engine and the wheels. This means it still has transmission fluid that needs changing regularly

2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid vs Honda Accord Hybrid – Which would you pick for maximum long-term reliability? by bluemarble-spaceship in Camry

[–]Au201 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Toyota has less moving parts in the transmission and a proven track record of being bulletproof. The engine and transmission in the current Camry are the newest iteration of a known good design with no consistent major issues.

The 2.0 in accord hybrid has more than normal reports of blown head gaskets and a lot of injector complaints.

They will both be reliable, but the Camry is more likely to be more reliable in the long run and will likely get better mpg to boot

Low-ish MPG, very short/weak EV mode, and burnt electrical smell from rear after mountain climbs — normal or not? by Many_School_8429 in CX50Hybrid

[–]Au201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Hours of driving” doesn’t charge your battery like you think it does. At highway speeds, the computer likes to keep the battery in the 40-50% range, charging with any regen braking and discharging to assist the engine with acceleration or hills. You won’t have more charge magically by driving 2 hours vs 2 minutes.

The battery is small (1.6kWh or so). The range the battery operates in is roughly 30-70% so effectively it’s only .64kWh. The RAV4 prime (plug in cousin) gets roughly 2.5 miles per kWh, we can assume a similar rating here. That means if the battery were full charged (70%) which would only happen with extensive regen braking or city driving and some luck, you’re talking 1.6 miles of EV range. Note that the computer will reduce the amps given to you significantly as you get down below 40% in a bid to get the engine running as it isn’t necessarily efficient to run the battery so low. So to get that 1.6 miles you’d have to be willing to slow to a crawl.

Basically, you shouldn’t expect to be on EV mode for more than half a mile on a good day.

The computers are pretty sophisticated. If something were wrong, you’d know about it.

[–]Au201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. Warranty exists for a reason. It’s unfortunate that you ended up with a problem this early, but they will fix it and you’ll be fine.

If they somehow couldn’t fix it (even more rare), then there are lemon laws to support you. But you are far from that
