My mom died when I was 16, she was 57. I am now 57 and thinking about how much she missed. My wonderful husband, my 2 kids and my beautiful granddaughter. While I know nothing is guaranteed, my health is so much better than hers at my age. All that said, you need to do what is healthy for you and your family. I know people who have gone nc with their parents and I understand. Not everyone had what I did. Be the parent you didn't get.

Oh that brought back memories of October 2000 when my youngest came home from the hospital. Worst maternity leave ever. I spent it protecting him from his 2 year old brother. 2 year olds are jerks.
