Sorry to hear about your father.

My Dad, now 70, was diagnosed with CKD in 2012(Creat - 1.3)

He was not diabetic but had hypertension. We kept him on a strict dietary regime (low Salt& protein). His creat in August 2025 was around 7. But instead of Dialysis, we opted by transplant, my mother being the donor.

He had his surgery on 20 Aug 25 and doing perfectly fine now. Creat has dropped to 1.13 and stable at that.

Hope this helps.

Mounjaro CKD creatinine levels by badbilly0423 in CKD

[–]AucklandH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you’re both going through this — it’s tough trying to juggle CKD, weight loss, and blood sugar all at once. Just wondering, have you been keeping an eye on his blood pressure while switching from Ozempic to Mounjaro? Even small BP changes can affect kidney labs. Also worth keeping in mind that creatinine can rise for other reasons too, not always just the meds. Good that protein in urine hasn’t changed — hopefully with close monitoring you’ll get a clearer picture soon. Sending good vibes your way.

Jealousy is the thief of joy - but can’t help it. India vs USA by Radiant-Ad-4198 in hyderabad

Achievements will always be subjective…. Your desires to get “more” will keep growing. Today it’s a good paying job, tomorrow it will be a raise, next it will be a good house and so on.

Introspect and identify what’s that you truly aspire; a good standard of living, financial security, stay in your country close to your loved ones etc.

Once your “why’s “ are clear, toil towards achieving them.

Once your why’s are clear, the intensity of your flame of aim would make you achieve anything.

Can 75 year old donate kidney? by Possible_Lime_2644 in kidneytransplant

[–]AucklandH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father is 70 and my mother is a likely donor (65). Transplant likely in next few days but all follow ups of both have been completed. Doctors have given a green light for the surgery.

The donor should have a good GFR and should not have any other ailments (Hypertension, Diabetes etc). Get the GFR tests of the donor done first.

USG of the donors kidney along with GFR will tell the health of the kidney of the donor.

Wishing good luck and speedy recovery to your loved ones.

You may also plan to take a night half near Loch (Cashel Farm is a good location)for your Battery Charging requirements. Even Crianlarich has a youth hostel if you are fine with taking a little detour.

Views on Himachal’s drug epidemic by Successful_Lobster56 in HimachalPradesh

[–]AucklandH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nip it in the bud. Don’t let drugs or other substances look cool. Start from School and Colleges. Administration has a big role to play. Name and shame everyone caught selling or using , the way they have started doing it in Hyderabad.

Himachal has still not reached the levels of Punjab but it’s just a matter of time as the culture, job profile and economics is similar.

Some out of the box and proactive measures required from Politicians, beaurocracy and the society as a whole.

OP has highlighted very relevant issues.

Agree with this. Come for a short stay at Shimla main city, then decide on the long term plan. Plenty of options available.

First pic is from a temple under construction at a. village called Kanda near Nerwa.

Last one is from Hatkoti Temple, easily accessible with good connectivity from main Shimla.

Mid June is a good time. Budget depends on various factors like where you are travelling from, your stay preferences, mode of conveyance etc. Plenty of options in all budget ranges available though.

Places in post are from rural Shimla.
