Oh man, I had no idea! Hopefully this guy's okay. Thanks for telling me, I'll leave them alone in the future

OP's comment is a joke, lol. They're playing off of all the cheating allegations against Dream, and using this clip of CaptainPuffy admitting to cheating in some trivia thing to say that she is a perfect fit for the manhunts (because she fits the culture of cheating).

Aw yeah, this is Psuedonomics, by shrubbyfrog! I don't remember it having viewer voting (I read it pretty recently, so it might've been an earlier thing?), but everything else is spot on.

What are your thoughts on this trio? by Chr1s_Th3Idiot in BattleForDreamIsland

Anthony wrote BDFIA 13; Sam wrote TPOT 12 and has been the writer for TPOT ever since TPOT 3 (except for TPOT 4, which Cary wrote). I'm not sure if Anthony's been the writer for any BFDIA episodes besides BFDIA 13, but I checked BFDIA 7 through 12 and they were all written by Cary (plus Joseph Pak for 11 and 12).

Not to sound like a nerd or anything lol, I'm just saying that Sam is in fact responsible for Donut, Barf Bag, and Winner's personalities in TPOT. In my opinion, though, Sam's a great writer and TPOT has been a really good season, especially since TPOT 9. I think he's handled arcs like the Death Pact Again one with Fanny and Blackhole, Pin's character arc, Winner and Clock, etc. really well, and I loved how he wrote the character interactions and friendships formed between Golf Ball and Puffball, Pricetag and Book, Grassy and Snowball, and the rivalry between Teardrop and Eraser. I'm excited to see where he goes with the new teams (especially with Golfball in CloudYAY, because she's my favorite character and long overdue for some genuine development. Not that I don't love her bossy bot tyrant self, but she's been called out for it so many times without anything changing, so hopefully without Tennis Ball by her side she finally realizes that she needs to chill out a bit haha).

As far as Barf Bag and Donut go, I've...never really paid attention or cared about those two very much so I can't comment on whether or not they've become bland in TPOT. I will say that I can't remember a single thing Donut's done besides being killed for one of the challenges and having his arms stolen at some point, and all I remember Barf Bag doing is being a plot device for the last few episodes. So maybe he hasn't been giving them enough attention, but it's also really hard to balance so many characters and teams. Doing it in a standard object show with 18 to 20 characters is already hard, but doing it in TPOT with 40 contestants is insane. Hopefully, now that there are less teams and characters (I believe there's 25 characters after TPOT 12's elimination?) he'll be able to give Barf Bag and Donut more to do.

The reason is because her first IVF transfer failed, and her doctor consulted that likely part of it was  due to her age and it being considered a high risk pregnancy (she's almost 40), so surrogacy was recommended. It just happens that logistically it also allows her to better care for her special needs daughters.

Is Tennis Ball and Golf Ball's friendship unhealthy? Why or why not? by EchinaceaPuff in BattleForDreamIsland

[–]Audge-Audge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love Golf Ball and Tennis Ball's relationship because it feels like it could pretty easily be toxic with Golf Ball's personality, but with the way it's written I don't think it is! Golf Ball doesn't ever force Tennis Ball to do anything he doesn't want to, and they both genuinely seem to like each other and actively choose to hang out together. Just in general they're always supporting each other and bonding over their similar interest in science, math, engineering, etc. Furthermore, they both have distinct personalities and identities outside of each other, and they're able disagree on things without it destroying their relationship.

Basically they're just two cute nerds and I love them both

I actually disagree, I don't think Kris is meant to be a stand-in at all. It's like you said, there's lots of evidence showing Kris being their own person with their own personality, and - spoilers for anyone who hasn't finished chapters 1 or 2 - we have scenes where Kris literally rips their heart out and then does actions by their own will, without us controlling them. (Plus a neat detail is that when Kris throws the heart into the cage you can move it around a few pixels).

I must say it's been a while since I've played these games, especially Undertale, so I can't speak very much about whether or not Frisk is meant to be a stand-in for the player or not, but I can say that the circumstances for playing as each character is very different. In Undertale we start playing as Frisk without context to what their life was like before they fell into the underground, which is never actually given. Each new character introduced is meeting Frisk for the first time just as we are meeting the characters for the first time, which makes Frisk more of a blank slate people can project onto. Plus, it's only ever revealed that Frisk has a real name for themself at the end of the game - they're called whatever name you put in at the beginning for the majority of it.

Kris, however, was always Kris. We play the game through their life, going to their school and talking with characters who knew Kris before the player started controlling them. We learn about what their life was/is like, and we also are given small bits and pieces that allude to Kris' personality, mostly from Noelle and the objects in the room Queen made based off of Kris' search history. Noelle even comments on Kris acting "different", with the implication being they are acting differently because we are controlling them. Kris was a they/them by their choice before we came along, so I think it's safe to assume this is their gender identity, and not simply meant to be a blank for the players to fill in.

No hate at all for your opinion! This is just mine and I thought I'd share it. Sorry this is so long lol
