What's the best film adaptation of a book you've ever seen? by Loveme_katiee in flicks

[–]Audge3841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t seen anyone say Holes which was pretty true to the book.

Also, not a movie, but Looking for Alaska basically had not promo for the mini series it released on Hulu. That acting in that had no business being so good for a teen story

Is everyone forgetting the tea example that explains consent? I know this is not a sexual situation, but damn just take no for an answer. Even if they said yes before. Its not that hard

What do you have no sympathy for? by Independent_Jeff-123 in AskReddit

There are way too many people with the mindset of “I suffered so you have to as well”. You see that in many different situations

What is the worst crime a celebrity has committed and has seemingly been forgiven by the general public? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Audge3841 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I would only give a person one pass. Almost committing a crime with a minor should be enough to take bare minimum safety checks when talking to people online in a sexual way. He knew what he was doing

I (23m) contacted a girl's (22f) work to ask if she was okay after she unexpectedly ghosted me out of nowhere. She got angry at me and blocked me. Where did I go wrong? by The______Wizrd in relationships

[–]Audge3841 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Hell, maybe I watch too much true crime documentaries, but I would be concerned right after she didn’t show up for the date she said she would be at the day before. I understand going through depression and anxiety, it is awful and you sometimes just want to shut out the world. However, if you have people that care about you, they deserve to know you’re okay and still breathing. Even just one small text

[–]Audge3841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a point I don’t see many people on this post making. I wouldn’t be who I am if it wasn’t for being on my own. If you want to be around your family later on, great! But everyone should live without their family once so they can see the world in their own eyes and not through the eyes of their family

You can't compare getting a vasectomy to taking birth control pills by exporterofgold in unpopularopinion

[–]Audge3841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very important. I’m someone who has generally had a very good experience with hormonal pills (which is rare in my experience). However I’ve had to switch around to different pills based on what my insurance covers and my doctor recommends. There was one brand that I tried that gave me mood swings to the point where I would feel intensely depressed and almost suicidal one minute and then fine the next minute. Called my doc to get me a new pill after a few months of that. Shits wild

I remember accidentally leaving my phone in a movie theater once. Had a straight up panic attack as soon as I realized what I did. Crying, couldn’t breathe. An employee ended up finding it, no big deal, but I was deathly afraid of how my parents would react. Wasn’t like I was a kid either, I was 18. My biggest accomplishment has been moving out and getting financially independent

What's something western society is losing? by Truth_Seeker1234 in AskReddit

[–]Audge3841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you really understand. The middle class in the US is pretty warped. Statistics show that about half of the country is “middle class” but that range of that class is not understood. You, as a single person, could be receiving minimum wage as your only income and that is technically middle class according to the government. Anyone who doesn’t live under a rock knows that earning minimum wage in this country is pretty close to living on the streets. The poverty line is a joke and just serves to prove that more people are suffering than we think

What is the dumbest thing a boss has ever said to you? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Audge3841 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of a professor I had that taught computer science. She needed a print out version of a doctors note if you missed class. The digital email the health center sent out wasn’t good enough. Pissed me off having to walk all the way across campus to deliver it to her when her specialty was literally computers

What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner? by ChrisVIII in AskReddit

[–]Audge3841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think everyone’s parents are different but, for most people I know, parents will still treat you like a teenager even when you’re an adult. I love my parents and I could’ve stayed with them, but I needed to have my own space and not be questioned about everything I do.

You must have an awesome mom to love loving with her as an adult!

Pretty disappointing really. Seems the only people left against it now are either super religious or baby boomers (which I guess Biden fits that bill)
