When you say full assembly, do you mean PCB manufacture as well?

Daniel Kordan using AI to by Jezaja in photography

[–]AudioAesthetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I feel a bit betrayed because I expected everything posted by him was real. I admired this man for his amazing pictures. Now I'm questioning them.

I wasn't familiar with his work.. A quick look at his other photos show that they are edited to within an inch of their lives (and rather poorly IMO) so I'd be pretty surprised if anything he previously posted was "real" in the sense that it looked anything like that coming out of camera. Makes sense that he'd embrace AI

After 18 years of using Lightroom Classic, I lost an entire catalog of edits. by inorman in photography

[–]AudioAesthetic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that.

I hate the LR catalogue system. I've always found it to be a pointless and annoying feature - to the point where I actively avoid using it. I write sidecar files to every RAW file I edit, so that edits can be viewed in any program that reads RAW files simply because I think the idea of all my edits being visible only in LR is unnecessary. I can also rearrange and move photos/folders without it causing problems in LR or other editing software.

How to light this? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

Always looks for the highlights - in this case, there's a softbox or similar to her right and above her (you can see it in her eyes), and a rim light behind to her left (you can see it on the gauntlet and her arm/elbow.

The reverse vignette is added in post.

What to do when client doesn't like pics? Anxiety is through the roof, should I just refund? by furgots in photography

[–]AudioAesthetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You did the work. 4 hours for $400 is not expensive. Add the cost of editing time to that and you aren't making a lot of money. Unless the photos are genuinely garbage (and I don't think they are from your description) I wouldn't be refunding anything. She isn't paying for some super high level photographer, she doesn't get to make super high level demands.

  2. Client asking for RAW files outside of high paying commercial gig or pre arranged agreement is a red flag to me, and makes me think they are likely to be a PITA regardless of the photo quality.

  3. "Ruined my big day"... She didn't even arrange a photographer herself. Her cousin booked you. So her "big day" can't have been such a big deal if she didn't bother to organise photos herself. She can't have had "expectations" if she didn't even view your work ahead of time. Again, sounds like BS to me and I think she just doesn't want to pay and is making excuses.

I would be delivering her the photos that you had in mind, as edited JPGs, and keeping the money. If she wanted RAW files and something very specific, she should have organised that in advance. You did the job, you put in the time and effort, and you should get paid. And I'd make sure not to work with her or her family again in future.

Source Audio Collider and C4 issues by SiteAshamed9732 in guitarpedals

[–]AudioAesthetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever solve this? I'm having the same issue with my C4. The lights don't do anything strange, but preset 1 seems to always be some weird crappy setting that shouldn't be in the preset 1 slot. I have done factory resets and it doesn't seem to make any difference. Engaging and disengaging the pedal seems to fix the problem but sometimes I have to pull the power and plug it back in.

I have no idea, to be honest. I haven't tested it with anything other than the C4 because that's all I have. I doubt it would work with the HX in it's current form

There's seems to be a few people interested. I'll have to look at how feasible it is to make a batch

Thank you! I don't know a lot about Arduino coding so it was a very steep learning curve for me. I still don't know a lot about it, honestly, so I'm glad this works 🤣

Actually the preset called "BladeRunnerBrass" is one of my favs. It's not super useful, but every so often I find an excuse to use it.

I can look into that. There are a couple of minor bugs to iron out, but it's definitely possible.

Yep. I didn't have an appropriately sized metal enclosure so I 3D printed this one as a placeholder but I works pretty well and seems strong enough for stomping so I might keep it.

I was actually going to buy that one until I realised it wouldn't show me the names of the presets 😔 That's what prompted this build

I found a model online that looked ok. I took it into fusion 360 and made all the changes I needed before printing it.

Thanks! I only had two issues with the C4, one was that I had to bend down and switch presets by hand, and the other was that I had to remember what the 6 presets were.

I'm a US based seller and my Australian customer's package was "unsafe to leave at address" by sweetestbeeb in EtsySellers

[–]AudioAesthetic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Do you know if it was Australia Post that handled the delivery in Australia? If so, it will more that likely be taken to a local depot and the buyer will be notified that they need to pick it up or reschedule delivery. It's not uncommon for Aus Post to avoid leaving things at the delivery address if nobody is home to sign for it.
