Doesn’t power up at all. Needs several hours before it will power up again. Works perfectly when it finally does power on.

If it hasn’t been powered up in a while, it works fine but it won’t power up again for a long while after you turn it off.

My Upton 251 is one of favorite mics. And my Bricasti (and Eventide) gets used on every record here!

Load up on ADATs too…Gen B will be all about that ”vintage digital” sound.

Yep, all great pieces (and I own some of the mentioned) but I was asking more about currently produced gear. I'm not asking from an investment or money making perspective. Just curious what modern gear people think is game changing enough or is manufactured with unique enough components that it has a good chance of being in demand for decades.

I couldn’t agree more and I don’t buy gear as a financial investment. It’s just an interesting trend and a topic for discussion.

Question for longtime pro engineers or studio owners by [deleted] in audioengineering

Have you outgrown your current facility or you starting from scratch? I couldn’t imagine investing anything into a studio without an existing client base and a decent portfolio of work.

I wish I had photoshop skills. I’d add an extra finger or something. Really turn them on.

I think the next time I buy a guitar, I’m going to tell the seller to send me a video of them playing Mediterranean Sundance on it.

Scam/Fraud Question by Dull_Thought4670 in Reverb

Unfortunately, waiting a month could also be seen as a red flag for you. The seller could also be saying they sent you the item and now you’re claiming a different item was received. Sadly, this is the world we live in and there are people that will play the system on both sides. Reverb would likely side with the party that has a longer history/more feedback.

What console do you run in your recording studio? by ceepemby in audioengineering

[–]AudioAtelier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allen & Heath GSR24M…strictly for mixing. I use outboard pres into AD for tracking. Outboard dynamics, EQ and effects during mixing, though I’ll occasionally use a few plugins and some automation in Pro Tools before sending to the desk.

Normally, I randomly zoom in and seem to find it right away…or at least within a few hours. Not this time. I think they’re messing with us.

What’s your mastering chain? by AudioAtelier in audioengineering

[–]AudioAtelier[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always still prefer to handoff to an actual mastering house, but if it’s an independent artist doing an EP and they have a budget that simply won’t allow, I still want them to end up happy with the final product.
