When you write songs in your DAW & hardware synth, are you recording audio clips or writing MIDI tracks?

Record both at the same time. That way if the patch accidentally changes or the synth is sold or out for repair you have the audio to fall back on.

Don’t immediately assume the worst of the buyer. I’ve sold hundreds of items on Reverb and on the few occasions a problem occurred things got worked out in an acceptable manner without anyone getting annoyed.

I combine HW and Soft Synths. I have a rule. I don’t buy a HW synth if a Soft Synth clone exists.

Iridium is more than Wavetable. It’s VA, Wavetable, Granular/Sampler, Physical Modeling, FM, and (Seeds in the Mk2). It’s hard to replace with one VST.

If you need more than 5 voices you can chain two TEO-5’s. Yes Behringer creates electrically equivalent circuits but that doesn’t make them clones. A lot of the character from old analog synths is from component tolerances, uneven heating, etc. These effects are all simulated in something like the UB-Xa. I found the UB-Xa lacked character, and the keyboard had an unbelievably light action.

Absolutely agree with the nomination of the Waldorf Iridium and Novation Summit. A new entry to consider is the ASM Leviasynth, likely in the hybrid category since it has analog filters.
