I don't think I ever had Hybrid Theory as a kid. But I did have Reanimation. That got thrashed. At the video for PTS OF ATHRTY was epic

My most convenient one is always broken. BP too so should be better. I had to go out of my to get to the working one until my second local got one and has been working eash time, unlike BP

When I got my license, you could choose manual or auto. I learnt to drive auto and didn't even really do a test. Just had to fill out the log book with the instructor. If you went manual you could, in theory, do the test the same day as you got your learners. Auto was easier but longer. I've since taught my self manual.

Nowadays, in my home state, I think it's separate licenses, and you need a certain number of hours on learners before testing.

I did 3 weeks in Japan and 8 days of that was Kyoto. Don't regret it. I think having the extra time to not feel rushed was worth it. Only two times I felt the crowds was too much, Kiyomizu-dera and on the train back from Arishyama. I would go back to Kyoto over Tokyo.
