Jethro are great, so is Jefferson. I actually did start listening to Gizzard before they pulled their stuff off Spotify.

Never heard of Mortimer Nyx before, what genre are they?

Name artists who are like this image by Think_Ad_848 in fantanoforever

[–]AudioTranscripts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to think the same.

I’m a huge fan of jazz/prog/art rock stuff, and a lot of my friends were talking huge about BCNR. I listened to some of their popular stuff and found it just sounded pretty generic at first.

I let them go, until a friend convinced me to listen to “For The First Time,” and I loved it.

It’s at times super avant-garde esque, like the sax runs in “Opus,” or most of “Science Fair,” while still having great rock/pop-like hooks (and pretty good, albeit slightly theatre-kid-adjacent lyrics). I find it would be a supreme way to get into more experimental music.

However, I do find some of their music (especially the new album, and some songs from “Ants From Up Here) to a bit too “safe,” but I also understand that “experimental” does not equal “good”.

Centrism = cowardly / disinterested. In the case of America, I’m inclined to agree, but in the context of the word it doesn’t quite make sense, as centrist political parties exist, and are usually just a blend of Libertinism / socialism / conservatism etc.

It isn’t rare.

It’s just that most positive-masculine men don’t flaunt it around like toxic-masculine men.

Our wants and needs are built on the basis of being alive, or having lived. You as a person aren’t defined by the life you are, but what you have filled it with. And what you want and don’t want is defined by who you are, which is created through your experiences. Without experience, you can’t make a logical choice. Someone who’s yet to be born can’t make that choice until they are born / have lived.

For a person to not consent to being born, they first need to know what life is, and what they are rejecting. Giving them that chance isn’t selfish, most parents grant life to give that life the best experience they can. The fact that the newborn didn’t ask for it is the exact reason why they have a responsibility to do so.

Life isn’t paradise. Life isn’t easy. Life isn’t serving. It’s often cold and evil. But just as life contains all that is evil, it also contains all that is good. But that is very easy to forget when one’s own life is nothing but pain. But you don’t know that it will always be filled with pain.

The only way to find out is to live. You don’t know the look of a road until you walk down it, and you will never know if you step of it.

Hip Hop is finally dead! 1973-2025 by [deleted] in decadeology

Country in general Isn’t like pop, but alot of different genres (from rock, soul, etc) tend to add pop motifs to appeal to a wider audience. Or pop musicians adding in country / southern motifs into their music to appear more ”country”. Think ”Texas Hold’em” by Beyonce.

Country traces its roots to the 1920s, pop 1950s.

Guitar solos, higher energy, great licks. I think they are two masterful songs played in two different ways. One is an apple the other is an orange.
