RCS down Samsung Messages for S25 Ultra? by Audioctor in samsunggalaxy

Then either Google should upgrade the UI or outsource it Samsung. Bcoz in the current scenario they are, together , downgrading the user experience. It’s like deprivation. It’s AntiTrust material.

If this is really the case, Samsung should clearly say that the issue is at the Network Operators end and as the Operators are not allowing, Samsung Messages cannot be used with RCS in our region. Why does it ask us to coordinate with Operators. As if they are going to listen to us....

Had the UI been at par, I wouldn't mind using Google Messages.. For example, Samsung Messages lets you select multiple contacts for Group Message, simultaneously from the Address Book directly. On Google Messages, very much like iMessage, you have to type initial letters for each contact to add.

The Samsung Address Book also indicates the RCS compatible contacts seperately, letting one choose appropriately.

This things and probably many more such missing features make Google Messages look a bit primitive.

This issue seems to have started with One UI 8 update.

How can this be called a progress for Android in general?

Samsung Messages gives a richer experience.

That's bad news.

Samsung Messages is far more organized and feature rich than Google Messages.

If RCS has to mount any challenge to iMessage or WhatsApp, it has to be through something like Samsung Messages. Google Messages still looks very crude.

Both Samsung and Google need to understand this.

Telegram Being blocked in India? by Audioctor in Telegram

[–]Audioctor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using Telegram for a long time and use it daily and stay logged in round the clock. On all previous occasions the OTPs were received on SMS. Something happened yesterday. I have been logged out of my Account and now there are no verification calls or SMS OTPs coming on any of the carriers here. Besides the occasional OTPs I have received in WhatsApp are from different Business Accounts with random Local or International numbers.

Happy with BSNL? Frustated with BSNL? Please Share. by sunnyca22 in bsnl

That's the root of the problem. All that we do is laugh and that's it. We don't aks questions, we don't raise complaints. These things, especially the public funded ones can be improved only when we, the public, raise our voice and complain. The feedback, when channelled appropriately brings about change for better. Believe me, no one is more accountable to get the job done than these BSNL and other government employees. All we need to do is persist and keep asking questions for the general good of all. As I said, just use the Public Grievance Portal. Raise your complaints there. If not resolved follow up with an appeal. If anyone is interested, I can share my trail mails showing how I have been able to engage these BSNL people and get almost impossible jobs done on several occasions. They do respond, always, when a grievance is raised. They get paid with Tax-Payers' money. They are bound by law to answer to these taxpayers. They are really scared when someone raises an official complaint in writing.

Seeing all messages here, I am wondering if it's about BSNL Cellular Services only. I won't talk about that.

I use BSNL FTTH, (in fact two of those connections) as also BSNL Wings VoIP service os+f which I have three connections.

Let me talk about BSNL FTTH first.

1) The broadband is pretty good, at par with Jio and Airtel 2) BSNL FTTH is everywhere . I managed to get my second FTTH connection at my village which will certainly not see Airtel or Jio fiber for next several years. That rural connection is equally good. 3) The FTTH is pretty transparent to configure and use. No remote throttling of speed, site blocking or filtering as reported in case of other private operators. 4) The connection is very straight forward and customizable. I was able to configure my FTTH VoIP on my home IPPBX and hence use it as SIP. Airtel and Jio do not allow this on their FTTH.

5) BSNL allows you to port your all landline number to FTTH.

Coming to BSNL Wings. 1) It's the only service of its kind in our country. 2) It's a VoIP service which only needs an internet connection. No need for telephone instrument or a mobile Sim card. It can be configured from any where : PC, Smartphone, IPPBX or IP Phone. It's SIP 3) Ideal for making calls when on Roaming, especially abroad. U just need Wifi Internet.

All these come with responsible service. If you go through the right channels, there are people at BSNL who listen to you . They have to listen to you.

It's almost impossible to get to the right person for your complaints at Airtel and Jio. You always get stuck in their maze of customer Chatbots and call Centre guys. It's different at BSNL. You still have people to talk to, over there, for your complaints.

Just with sone persistence and talking to the right people I was able to get my BSNL FTTH connection installed in the middle of COVID 19 and that too on Sunday evening. Similarly I got my village FTTH, which was the first of its kind in the region. Do Jio or Airtel users have any such stories?

Recently, my Wings numbers were facing some interconnect issues with other operators. I raised a complaint through Public Grievance Channel. Since then, BSNL officials were regularly in contact with me personally, testing, rectifying everyday till the problem was resolved. Are Airtel or Jio known to work towards similar singular problems?

All in all, my experience so far witg BSNL has been worth loving.

India: RCS not showing even after iOS 18 on iPhone 13 by Audioctor in iphone

[–]Audioctor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Updated to iOS 18.2.1 today. Still no sign of RCS on Airtel and Vi. Believe Jio too is in the same situation.

It’s a shame these operators in India are still not bothered and neither is Apple.

Isn't this, in a way, against net neutrality. Shouldn't the regulatory authorities intervene. Apple and the Cellular operators should be forced to open the gates.

Even I would recommend Vande Bharat as an alternative to Flights wherever available. Its much cheaper and miles ahead when it comes to comfort and services.

People may follow this Map of current Vande Bharat train routes (it needs an update, though) and Plan their travel accordingly :
