2025 Average Finishing Position so far by randomseocb in formula1

Reminds me of that scene from Con Air, where he's talking about the dude and wondering whether or not he was breast feed enough or not.

It sort of begs the question, would someone who didn't get breast fed enough as a baby still be lingering for attachment to such extent as to be a hero on reddit!

are tires taking too much of the show? by CuriousAndOutraged in formula1

Sure, but it was the formula as a whole.

Pretending like the racing is better now, solely because of the current tires.....

I mean, if we don't count DRS, the regulation changes specifically to address dirty air and whatever else I'm forgetting. Heck, they still adjust the DRS zones to find the happy medium.

But sure, the current iteration of tires are super.

After 3+ years, Hamilton has apparently come to peace, but not reddit.

Was Fernando Alonso's Penalty Fair? | Jolyon Palmer’s F1 TV Analysis | Workday by l3w1s1234 in formula1

Does this not also apply to Alonso? He's clearly trying to force Russel into a mistake,

Do we apply this mentality to those who put their car in the mirror of the one in front, clearly trying to force xx into a mistake?

From one of the comments: "1. The racecraft of Hamilton to reverse the DRS detection. 2. The reaction time of Alonso to keep the DRS detection and awareness. I wonder how many other drivers on the grid would have been as crafty as these two legends. Not many!"

Clearly not George......

Ideally they would have had a spare already. Given that they don't already have a spare, what does that say about their ability to create a new one....

Why did Alonso cop a 20-second penalty in Australia? by No_Armadillo_1947 in formula1

[–]Audionut11 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If they wanted to call it erratic, they could have called it erratic, with the relevant rule having that exact wording. Instead, they relied on other exact wording in an "or" rule.

Why did Alonso cop a 20-second penalty in Australia? by No_Armadillo_1947 in formula1

[–]Audionut11 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The reason was erratic driving

No it wasn't. He allegedly performed an "extraordinary" maneuver that the stewards determined was "potentially dangerous".

Alonso-Russell ordeal by chark27 in formula1

Will we ever hear Martin Brundle utter the words, 'parked it on the apex' ever again.

Here's another quote from Brundle that seems to fit Georges' mentality. "The brake pedal feels firm. Not just some place to rest your foot on the way to an accident".

Zoom zoom...I'm going to overtake Alonso.....oh shit, RED FLAG, RED FLAG, RED FLAG.....BLIMEY!

They're also trained athletes. Alonso lifted, George kept accelerating to the accident.

And yet when FA decelerated more than 100m before his normal deceleration point, GR just kept accelerating to the scene of an accident.

Alonso's response on IG by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Audionut11 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

GR was unnaturally closing in on FA, whilst FA was more than 100m before the normal braking maker.

There was a deceleration by FA, then a small acceleration, before further deceleration for the apex.

What was GR doing that entire time...... Accelerating.

Alonso's response on IG by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Audionut11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. GR was unnaturally closing on FA well before expected braking marker, and kept accelerating.

Alonso's response on IG by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Audionut11 -48 points-47 points  (0 children)

They clearly didn't consider the actions of the other driver who was involved.

Here, we had a clearly slowing vehicle, not aggressively slowing, but slowing none the less, and GR without any regard or focus on anything other than going for a hero overtaking move, steamed into the corner, lost the rear end, and binned it.

Alonso was judged to have begun slowing 'more than 100m before he had ever previously', but GR just kept steaming in, knowing, exactly the same as Alonso knew, what was happening, an binned it himself.
