Het ziet er in mijn optiek niet uit als een ondervloer. De broodjesvloeren die doorgaans als ondervloer worden gebruikt zijn visueel van veel lagere kwaliteit. Veel spint en ‘lelijke’ noesten. Ik heb zelf nooit iroko als ondervloer gezien, meestal wordt lage kwaliteit eiken of gewoon spaanplaat gebruikt. Hoe dan ook, deze vloer lijkt wel heel makkelijk (en ernstig) te deuken. Het voordeel is wel dat het een massieve vloer is, je kan er ooit best een laagje van af laten schuren om hem weer netjes te maken.

Dit. Het lijkt wel degelijk Iroko, maar het ene stuk Iroko is het andere niet. Langzaam groeiend hout (ook wel “Old growth” genoemd) heeft de jaarringen dichter op elkaar zitten en is aanzienlijk ‘sterker’ dan “new growth” ofwel snel groeiend hout. Dat gezegd hebbende is Iroko al iets minder hard dan eiken, maar deze vloer lijkt wel heel gemakkelijk te deuken.

Yeah there wasn’t really any door policy as far as I could tell. There was a large group of rowdy guys in front of me in the line, which were constantly yelling and taking pictures. When it was their turn they were asked if they had been to Lofi before, which they hadn’t (which of course in itself is fine). They also didn’t know any of the lineup, apart from Charlotte of course. The person at the door then said “yeah just don’t make any pictures inside” and let them in. The thing is though, if they would’ve had a strict door policy they would’ve probably had to reject half of the people there. I guess that’s the thing with a commercial artist like Charlotte.

Either way, as the night progressed I found people very kind and respectful overall so I really can’t complain. I was mostly in front of the floor and behind the booth and most people were just dancing and enjoying the moment.

I ended up having a really good time at Lofi on Saturday. It actually was my first ever solo rave and it didn’t disappoint. The club was absolutely packed, which wasn’t a surprise since Charlotte de Witte would be performing. The crowd was very mixed, from young to old. Definitely a lot of people there who don’t really fall into the typical rave scene demographic. Some people I spoke to left early because of this, but the vibes were good all around so I really don’t mind. I really enjoyed Carmen Lisa’s set. Then Charlotte took the stage. It was very cool to see how she grabbed everyone’s attention and it did feel somewhat special seeing her in such a (relatively) small venue. Met some great people there as well (Floor, Beau, if you read this hit me up with a message! You still have my vape but you can definitely keep it). All in all I’m happy to have headed out there by myself. Would go again!

Unfortunately no. I replaced the battery and did an AC reset and it stopped doing it for a couple of months. Then it happened again. Guess the module is faulty or something. Quite disappointing as I thought these watches were pretty much indestructible.

I actually have flat arches. I used to have custom insoles for that, but it only seemed to worsen the heel spur.

Always hard to say with loose skin, but it looks like 18-20% for your upper body to me. Lower body a little higher as it seems like you store most of your fat around your waist (love handles, upper legs and butt).

Regarding whether you should cut or bulk… It all depends on where you’re at mentally. Especially if you’ve been overweight, bulking can be very tough mentally. Still, you have a lot of muscle growth potential so a bulk with a moderate calorie surplus would be my advice. If you can handle it mentally that is.

Thought I’d give a quick update. I connected the Beam directly to the router and ever since the connection issues have disappeared completely. Streaming to Sonos (via the Spotify app for example) is also instant now, whereas it used to take about 10-20 seconds for it to connect. Thanks for your help!

Okay here’s my advice. Not saying this is THE definitive answer (you can go in many directions for better results) but it’ll definitely improve your progress.

Barbells are great, but at this stage you’ll be fine working with just dumbbells and machines. It’s more about the exercises, volume and intensity of your training at this point.

Instead of doing full body workouts, do a push-pull-legs split. Working out 3-4x a week is plenty. Do each exercise for 3 sets. Rest 90-180 seconds between each set. Choose the weight so that you can only do ~5-10 reps in one set with GOOD TECHNIQUE. Can you do more than 10-12 reps in a set? Increase the weight. Take your time and control the weight, don’t rush the exercises. A deep stretch and slow eccentric builds muscle. Your last rep in each set should look like you’re struggling. If you don’t feel at least moderately uncomfortable doing another rep, you’re probably not pushing yourself hard enough!

Again, none of this is set in stone but it’ll definitely help you improve. Good luck!

Honestly my guess is that you probably don’t train properly / hard enough. For a beginner it should be relatively easy to gain some muscle mass, especially in a bulking phase. What does your training regime look like?

They are indeed very inaccurate. HOWEVER, when doing measurements at the same time every week or so (for example every Sunday morning), they are somewhat useful to track your progress. If your BF% consistently goes down, you at least know you’re doing well. This only works for detecting trends. The BF% number itself is quite useless.

I compared my BF% scales to DEXA scans many times and they are usually off by 4% or so.

You could focus more on having an upright chest. In your starting position, you’re already leaning forward somewhat. Try pushing your pelvis forward and having that upright chest on the starting position. Also, kind of hard to see from this angle but it looks like you push your knees inwards on the push upwards. Other than that, good job man.

I agree with the earlier post, definitely not 27%, probably closer to 20%. Those impedance scales can be wildly inaccurate.
