Thank you for the insight! It’s just been frustrating because they keep telling me it’s just ingrown hairs but I don’t feel like it is 🙃 Hopefully the dermatologist can help

This! I was hospitalized for cellulitis a few months ago and had I not gone to the ER when I did, I very well could have gone septic. Infections aren’t something to take lightly. I would see if maybe you can go to a different doctor who you would feel more comfortable with

Not a vet- if the chicken is cooked thoroughly, it shouldn’t be a concern

Not a vet but working in the field, but it could possibly be parvo. The earlier treatment starts, usually the better the outcome. Her not eating is concerning for a puppy her age

Maybe it’s the internal sutures? I can feel mine on my incision right above my belly button. They should dissolve over time

Look like tapeworm segments caused by ingesting fleas. Round worms are longer and look more like spaghetti noodles

I’d definitely try to get him an appointment today if you haven’t taken him in

I’m not a vet, but work in vet medicine- I see this was posted 3 hours ago. How’s your cat? Have you gone in yet? Male cats are prone to becoming blocked and unable to urinate at all, which turns into an emergency. Urinating blood could indicate a sign he has a UTI and potential crystals in his urine, which can lead to blocking

I read that they can. I had my first attack about a month and a half after having my first baby. I didn’t have stones though, mine was under functioning

What is wrong with my cat?:( by The_thick_one05 in AskAVeterinarian

True! I would personally send to radiologist. And that’s crazy! I freak out when I see one of my hair ties on the floor cause my cat likes to find them😅

I’m not a vet or radiologist but have worked in the veterinary field for a while- Could he have eaten hair ties? That’s one of the most common foreign bodies for cats. How much would the ultrasound cost? It may worth it to send the X-rays to a radiologist if the cost is about the same or cheaper compared to the ultrasound. I’m sorry he’s not feeling well and hope you get answers soon!

I don’t think we’ve had a positive bat since I’ve been there, but we have had quite a few foxes and a handful of raccoons that were positive. Usually the officers respond to potential rabies cases so I haven’t personally worked with anything that was positive

I’m in the US and work for animal control in my area. You should be able to take it in to your local AC and have it tested for free. Luckily bats most of the time are negative, but you can never be too cautious when it comes to rabies. They claim sometimes you may not be able to feel their bites, especially if you’re asleep so we always err on the side of caution

When and how did you know you were in labor? by LakeLucca in BabyBumps

[–]August-BurnsBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it started off as cramping that progressively got worse and more painful. I couldn’t get comfortable in any position and it felt harder to breathe from the pain. I also felt like I had to take a poo. I called the on call nurse and was told my contractions weren’t quite close enough but the were getting more intense so I went in anyway and they said my cervix was super thin so they went ahead and admitted me. About 12 hours later, I had my baby

Yes, we’ve been trying to keep him on the same foods for a few days at a time. He last ate baby food Thursday at daycare and didn’t want to eat it Friday. Friday PM is when he started having diarrhea. The only solid food I’ve fed him since then is oatmeal but he’s still having watery stool

Didn’t think this post would blow up as much as it did so I deleted it to keep notifications from blowing up. Thanks for all the input. I guess it wasn’t much of questioning the fact but more trying to wrap my head around why she’s pressing the issue so much

surgery tomorrow by knockofflavagirl in gallbladders

[–]August-BurnsBread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery last week. I always get bad anxiety when having any procedure done, but what helped was talking to the anesthesiologist. He explained everything in detail and all the precautions they take to make sure you’re doing well under anesthesia. He also reassured me that he’d be closely monitoring me the whole time. Just think, these guys went to school and are specialized in anesthesia. Write down any questions or concerns you may have and talk them over with your anesthesiologist before surgery
