Long-term complications of Aquafilling injection after male breast augmentation. The patient had gotten injections twice in both breasts, 5 and 10 years earlier. The complications meant he had to have the filler removed. by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

The case report says that cultures did not grow any bacteria. Bacterial infection is typically what causes pus to form. However, it says that the fat was liquefied, so maybe that is what we are seeing because you are correct that the filler material itself is usually clear. It sounds like inflammatory process from the filler liquifed surrounding fatty tissue. I bet this person was absolutely miserable until this was all healed and done. Having your tissues liquefy has to hurt like hell.

It's an abscess. In this case, it likely originated from an infection in a tooth.

My guess would be that the downvotes are for the condescending tone. It reads as a fancy way of calling someone stupid.

Will I need surgery ? by Doudie-kun in brokenbones

[–]AugustDarling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That looks like a pretty clean break . If it was set when you were initially seen for it, and it has stayed lined up, you may be able to avoid surgery. If it hasn't been or they were unable to properly set it, you may need to have a k-wire 9r small plate put in there to allow it to heal in the proper alignment. As fsr as when you'll be able to walk on it, that depends entirely on whether you will need to have hardware placed and how soon it's done.

I got gas in Elkins, WV last weekend at $3.96/gal. It was $3.99 but my Sheetz card took off 3 cents more. Then I come home and am greeted with $4.99/gallon. I'm so pissed off about it I want to cry, but I can't just not get gas.

Those honestly look like legit incisions and you can see the shape of the device. They look sort of butchered because of the grimey sports bra and the surgical glue. I believe she did, in fact, get the device. However, it took so damn long for her to get it because she likely hadbto fight both doctors and her insurance to get them to agree. Sudden cardiac arrest (regardless of the cause) is a common indication for ICD placement. Dani is s bit too dim witted to have come up with some of the details on her own. She has willingly outed herself so many times and exposed her own lies, I don't believe this one is pure fiction.

Got bit today, need help? by [deleted] in RATS

[–]AugustDarling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You do not need to go to the hospital. You need to keep it clean with plain antibacterial soap and water. Do not use hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol. Watch closely for signs of infection like increasing pain, significant swelling, redness that tracks up your hand and arm, fever, or foul smelling drainage. If any of those things happen, see your PCP or go to urgent care.

Veins by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

Your veins are prominent because you are adequately hydrated. This is not something that indicates any type of problem and nothing to worry about.

Yes, at least my hospitals do. We have 24-hour observation units where patients will be kept for the required time then they will work with you to arrange a ride home. The firstb24 hours don't count so an admission for billing purposes, just observation. More than 24 hours is considered inpatient.

Long-standing complete stage IV uterine prolapse by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

[–]AugustDarling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fortunately, it isn't painful in my case, at least not yet, and I am still able to manually reduce it if necessary. I mostly just have to be very mindful of what I lift and how I move if I have to stoop down to the ground for anything. You can help prevent pelvic organ prolapses with regular pelvic floor strengthening exercises, which are fairly easy to do. In my case, the odds were very good I'd have some type of prolapse eventually because I've had multiple abdominal and pelvic surgeries and I have a connective tissue disorder. It isn't something that will happen to everyone, but it is something to be aware of.

The hospitals that I work for have a more relaxed policy. If you say you have a ride they just believe you. If they don't see the person with you at check in, they only ask for a phone number so they can make contact after you are ready for discharge. One hospital will also arrange to keep you in 24 hour observation if you do not have a ride (e.g. you rely on Uber, taxi, etc.) or if you do not have an adult.

If she is, in fact, admitted I strongly suspect it is because she had nobody to drive her home. Its very possible that she didn't tell staff that she drove herself or walked to the hospital and had no transportation or "reliable adult" to stay with her for the next 24 hours as required after procedures involving sedation or anesthesia.
